摘要： An electrode unit and a secondary battery having the electrode unit include a first electrode plate having a first electrode uncoated portion on at least one side of a first electrode collector coated with at least a first electrode active material, a second electrode plate having a second electrode uncoated portion on at least one side of a second electrode collector coated with at least a second electrode active material, and a separator interposed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate, wherein an insulating separator having at least two folds is located between the first electrode uncoated portion and the second electrode uncoated portion.

摘要： A lithium secondary battery includes a can made of a conductive metal. The can houses an electrode unit having positive and negative electrode plates with a separator interposed therebetween with an electrolytic solution. An upper opening of the can is sealed by a cap assembly. A bottom plate is welded to an outer bottom surface of the can, and a lead plate having a first end welded to the outer bottom surface of the can and a second end connected to a safety device so that the can is electrically connected to the safety device.

摘要： A jelly-roll type battery unit includes a first electrode plate having a first electrode current collector with a first electrode tab, and a first electrode active material layer on a surface of the first electrode current collector; a second electrode plate having a second electrode current collector with a second electrode tab, and a second electrode active material layer on a surface of the second electrode current collector; and a separator interposed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate. The electrode tab is incorporated into the electrode current collector in an area of either first or second electrode plate where the corresponding electrode active material layer is not coated. The electrode tab is cut widthwise with respect to the electrode current collector from a center area of the electrode current collector and folded, and an insulating tape is adhered to either surface of the electrode tab.

摘要： A secondary battery includes a case, a rolled electrode assembly disposed within the case, and an electrode assembly fixing member receiving a portion of the rolled electrode assembly so that expansion and contraction of the rolled electrode assembly can be suppressed during charging and discharging operations of the battery, and deformation of the rolled electrode assembly caused by outer impact can be prevented. The electrode assembly fixing member comprises a cap fitted onto at least one of upper and lower ends of the rolled electrode assembly. The electrode assembly fixing member further comprises a gripper holding the rolled electrode assembly.
