    摘要: A support mechanism for supporting an object, such as a table, has at least four legs (5-8) and an interconnection means (4) connecting the legs. Each leg has at least a beam portion (5a-8a) with an inner (proximal) end and an outer (distal) end. The beam portion of each leg is connected to the interconnection means by a respective pivot (9) having a pivot axis. The pivot is located between the inner and outer ends of the beam portion. Each respective pair of adjacent legs has a protrusion (or lever or balance portion) (11-14), each fixed to one leg of said pair of adjacent legs and extending from that one leg to act on the other leg of said pair of adjacent legs whereby a support reaction force is transmitted between the pair of adjacent legs at a point on the other leg between the pivot and the outer end of the beam portion of that other leg. Said point is on the opposite side of the pivot axis of the one leg to the outer end of the beam portion of that one leg. In use, the outer end of the beam portion of one leg moves in an upwards direction and the outer end of the beam portion of the other leg of the adjacent pair of legs moves in a downwards direction. Feet (10) can be replaced, or the beam portions (5a-8a) can be extended, by downwards extending portions (5b,6b,7b and 8b) connected to the outer ends of the beam portion of each leg.

    摘要: An axle assembly for a suspension system of a vehicle includes an elongate axle member adapted to rotatably receive wheels of a vehicle, a first arm member operatively associated with the axle member and flexibly connected, in use, to a chassis of the vehicle, a second arm member operatively associated with the axle member and flexibly connected, in use, to the chassis, and a first ram operatively associated with the first arm member and the axle member. The axle assembly is incorporated, in use, into a suspension system as a roll control component of the suspension system. The arrangement is such that when expansion or contraction of the ram is restricted, rotation of the axle member relative to the first arm member is restricted and roll of the vehicle is resisted, and when expansion or contraction of the ram is permitted, rotation of the axle member relative to the first arm member is permitted and articulation of the axle member is permitted.

In use, the outer end of the beam portion of one leg moves in an upwards direction and the outer end of the beam portions of the adjacent legs moves in a downwards direction to accommodate uneven ground surfaces.

    摘要: A load distribution unit is utilized in a vehicle suspension system having at least one pair of laterally adjacent forward wheel assemblies, and at least one pair of laterally adjacent rear wheel assemblies. A wheel ram is associated with each of the wheel assemblies, each wheel ram including a major chamber therein. The load distribution unit includes a plurality of fluid chambers, each fluid chamber being divided into at least two control chambers by at least one piston supported therein. Two pairs of the control chambers which vary in volume proportionally and in opposite senses therein with piston motion are system chambers, and at least two of the remaining control chambers are bump chambers. The pistons are interconnected by at least one connection device. The major chamber of each wheel ram is in fluid communication with a respective system chamber. The vehicle suspension system provides a roll stiffness and a pitch stiffness while providing minimum cross-axial articulation stiffness.

The blue print comprises an irregular tetrahedral arrangement comprising of four isosceles triangular faces each having two angles of approximately 54.73561 degrees and one of approximately 70.5 degrees, the four triangles being arranged in two pairs, the paired triangles being connected along the longer edges of each of the triangles, the included angle between the two faces of the paired triangles being 90 degrees, the long edges of the two pairs of triangles being of the approximate ratio of 100:86.6 relative to the four shorter edges, and the long edges being located perpendicularly with respect to each other on opposite sides of the tetrahedral arrangement. The tetrahedral arrangement provides a modular component which is close-packable with three other similar adjoining modular irregular tetrahedral arrangements defining a specifically dimensioned octahedral arrangement. The outermost points of each tetrahedral and octahedral arrangement define nodal points such as the positions of four elementary particles wherein the magnetic and the electrical fields within certain materials and circuits can be constructively organised to perform a number of specific functions.

Locating means (14) attached to the object and located relative to the interconnection means, permit upward relative displacement between the locating means and the interconnection means and prevent substantially horizontal relative displacement between the locating means (14) and the interconnection means (8). Substantially vertical displacement of the ground engaging end or foot (4c or 6c) of one of the moveable legs relative to the fixed legs causes substantially vertical displacement of the support member of the associated moveable leg and therefore substantially vertical displacement of the object and the locating means relative the interconnection means and the fixed legs, causing another of the at least two moveable legs to rotate, the support mechanism thereby conforming to an uneven surface. Relative horizontal motion between the support members and the object can be accommodated by adding a degree of freedom such as using sliding joints or flexible support members.

The first and third pivot axes are at an angle of up to thirty degrees from parallel to each other and within thirty degrees of perpendicular to the second pivot axis. The first lever part includes a first engaging region engaging with the second engaging region of the second lever part. The third lever part includes a second engaging region engaging with the first engaging region of the second lever part. Rotation of the first lever part drives rotation of the second lever part which drives rotation of the third lever part opposite to the first lever part, allowing warp displacement of the four ground engaging devices.
