Abstract: A system and method for performing sound quality testing of audio equipment in a conference room, the method comprising: determining, at a time t1, in a conference room with a set of audio video equipment, the set of audio equipment comprising one or more loudspeakers, one or more microphones, and audio signal processing equipment that includes at least an acoustic echo cancellation function, an initial audio performance level (IAPL) with the acoustic echo cancellation function turned off, and storing the same; determining, at a second time t2, following the first point in time t1, a current audio performance level (CAPL) with the acoustic echo cancellation function turned off, and storing the same; comparing the CAPL to the IAPL; and determining if the audio equipment in the conference room passes or fails the sound quality test based on the comparison of the CAPL to the IAPL.

Abstract: Described herein is a system and method for generating text caption information for an audio-video (AV) signal, the systems and method comprising: receiving an AV signal; extracting audio from the AV signal to form an extracted audio signal; time stamping both the extracted audio signal and the received AV signal; partitioning the extracted audio signal into a first predetermined duration segment of extracted audio signal; generating text captions from the partitioned extracted audio signal over a first duration, and converting the same to a video text signal, with the same time stamp as the extracted audio signal and received AV signal; delaying the received AV signal by an amount of time substantially similar to the first duration; combining the time stamped video text signal and the delayed time stamped received AV signal based on the time stamps; and outputting the combined time stamped video text signal and the time stamped received AV signal to a display.

Abstract: An audio processing device for use in a network connected audio conferencing system is provided, comprising: a network microphone array comprising two or more microphones (mics) and a beamforming circuit, wherein the network mic array is adapted to acquire acoustic audio signals, convert the same to electric audio signals, perform audio beamforming on the electric audio signals, and output a digital combined beamforming circuit output signal that comprises a first signal part and a second signal part, and wherein the first signal part comprises a first set of digital bits that comprises an active beam index, and wherein the active beam index encodes a selected beam position out of a possible N beam positions, and wherein the second signal part comprises a second set of digital bits that comprises a beamformed audio signal; a receiver adapted to receive the digital combined beamforming circuit output signal and split the same into the first signal part and the second signal part; a plurality of acoustic echo cancellation filter devices, each of which are adapted to receive the second signal part and a far end reference audio signal from a far end audio processing device, and perform acoustic echo cancellation on the beamformed audio signal in view of the far end audio signal; and an AEC filter circuit controller adapted to receive the first signal part, decipher the active beam index encoded in the first beamformed audio signal part to determine which of the N beam positions is active, and select a corresponding one of the plurality of acoustic echo cancellation filter devices based on the active one of N beam positions to generate an output audio signal from the audio processing device to be transmitted to the far end audio processing device.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for determining which controllable device an audible command is directed towards, the method comprising: receiving at each of two or more controlling devices the audible command signal, the audible command being directed to control at least one of two or more controllable devices controlled by a respective one of the two or more controlling devices; digitizing each of the received audible command signals; attaching a unique identifier to each digitized audible command so as to uniquely correlate it to a respective controlling device; determining a magnitude of each of the digitized audible command; determining a digitized audible command with the greatest magnitude, and further determining to which controlling device the audible command is directed to on the basis of the unique identifier associated with the digitized audible command with the greatest magnitude; performing speech recognition on the digitized audible command with the greatest magnitude; and forwarding a command to the controlling device corresponding to the digitized audible command with the greatest magnitude, the command corresponding to the audible command that can be implemented on the controllable device controlled by the controlling device.

Abstract: Presented are a system and method for distributing video over a network. The system includes a source that outputs video with a first frame rate, a transmitter, a receiver, and a sink. The transmitter receives video from the source and processes the video by encoding the video with frame boundary information, packetizing, and transmitting the video. The receiver includes a frame buffer, a timing generator, and a PLL. The receiver receives and processes the video by retrieving the frame boundary information, decoding the video into sub-frames, and writing the sub-frames to the buffer. All the processing occurs on sub-frame portions of the video in sub-frame time intervals. The receiver transmits video with a second frame rate to the sink. The timing generator generates output timing and uses the PLL to synchronize the output timing with the frame boundary information and synchronizes the first and second frame rates.
