Abstract: Provided is a nanodiamond dispersion composition having excellent dispersibility of nanodiamond particles in an organic dispersion medium even when the organic dispersion medium has a small SP value. The nanodiamond dispersion composition according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an organic dispersion medium, nanodiamond particles dispersed in the organic dispersion medium, and a fatty acid ester dispersing agent. The fatty acid ester dispersing agent preferably has a mass loss rate of 20% or less when held in an air atmosphere at a temperature of 200° C. for 180 minutes. The fatty acid ester dispersing agent preferably has an acid value of 40 mgKOH/g or less.

Abstract: Provided is a plating film that can exhibit a high gloss and a low contact resistance value. The plating film according to an embodiment of the present invention is a plating film including a noble metal matrix and nanodiamond particles dispersed in the noble metal matrix. The plating film according to an embodiment of the present invention preferably has a gloss at an incident angle of 60° of not less than 250 GU and/or a contact resistance value at a load of 50 gf of not greater than 1 mΩ, and a difference between a contact resistance value at a load of 50 gf and a contact resistance value at a load of 5 gf of not greater than 5 mΩ. The nanodiamond particles are preferably nanodiamond particles including a surface-modifying group containing a sterically repulsive group and particularly preferably nanodiamond particles including a surface-modifying group containing a polyglycerol chain.

Abstract: A nanodiamond particle dispersion including nanodiamond particles highly dispersed in an organic solvent is provided. A nanodiamond particle dispersion of the present invention includes nanodiamond particles dispersed in an organic solvent, in which the nanodiamond particles have a silane compound (excluding a silane compound having a (meth)acryloyl group) bonded to a surface of the nanodiamond particles, the organic solvent has an SP value from 8.0 to 14.0 (cal/cm3)1/2, and the nanodiamond particles are dispersed with a particle diameter (D50) from 2 to 100 nm. Abstract: A resin composition (X), which is a curable resin composition according to the present invention, contains a curable resin component (10), a surface-modified nanodiamond (20), and an organic medium. The surface-modified nanodiamond (20) includes a ND particle (21), which is a nanodiamond particle, and a silane coupling agent (22). The silane coupling agent (22) has a (meth)acryloyl-containing organic chain and is bonded to the ND particle (21). The resin composition (X) is suitable for forming a nanodiamond-dispersed cured resin portion having both high transparency and high scratch resistance. An optical element according to the present invention has a light-transmitting region and includes a cured resin portion, which is a cured product of the resin composition (X), in at least part of the light-transmitting region. The optical element is advantageous for actually providing an optical element including a cured resin portion or cured resin layer having both high transparency and high scratch resistance.
