摘要: A honeycomb structural body has a central part, an outer-circumferential part and a boundary-partition wall. The central part has central basic-cell walls and central reinforced-cell walls. The outer-circumferential part has outer-circumferential basic-cell walls and outer-circumferential reinforced-cell walls. The body satisfies R1/P1≧0.5, R2/P2≧0.5, T10≧T20, T11>T21, T3>T10, T3>T20, T3≧T11 and T3>T21, where R1 indicates a distance from the boundary-partition wall toward a radially-inward direction of the body, P1 indicates an average cell-pitch in the central part, R2 indicates a distance from the boundary-partition wall toward a radially outward direction of the body, P2 indicates an average cell-pitch in the outer-circumferential part, T10 indicates an average-thickness of the central basic-cell walls, T20 indicates an average-thickness of the outer-circumferential basic-cell walls, T11 indicates an average-thickness of the central reinforced-cell walls, T21 indicates an average-thickness of the outer-circumferential reinforced-cell walls, and T3 indicates an average-thickness of the boundary-partition wall.

摘要: A die includes a die body, a material supply portion, and a slit portion. The material supply portion includes a material supply surface, and a material supply hole that extends in an extrusion direction from the material supply hole. The slit portion includes an extrusion surface that faces the material supply surface across the material supply hole, and a slit that has a grid shape, opens on the extrusion surface, and communicates with the material supply hole. The slit has a grid point. The material supply hole is provided at a position corresponding to the grid point and coaxially with the grid point. An end of the material supply hole in the extrusion direction includes a throttle hole whose diameter decreases toward the grid point, and a guide hole that extends outward from the throttle hole and guides a material to the slit including the grid point.

摘要: A honeycomb structure body has a cylindrical outer peripheral wall, partition walls and cells. The cells are surrounded by the partition walls. In a radial cross section of the honeycomb structure body, the cells is divided into cell density sections having different cell densities formed from a central section to the outer peripheral wall. A boundary wall is formed between two cell density sections. Each cell density section has boundary cells and interior cells. The boundary cells are in contact with the boundary wall. The interior cells are not in contact with the boundary wall. In the radial cross section of the honeycomb structure body, an inscribed circle of each of the boundary cells has a diameter of not less than 0.5 mm. Further, an inscribed circle of an interior cell adjacent to the boundary cell also has a diameter of not less than 0.5 mm.

摘要: A honeycomb structure body has cell walls arranged in a lattice arrangement and a plurality of cells surrounded by the cell walls. The honeycomb structure body has a cell density distribution in which a cell density is reduced continuously or stepwise from a center portion to an outer peripheral portion in a radial direction. The honeycomb structure body has wave shaped cell walls and flat shaped cell walls which extend in an axial direction. Particularly, the wave shaped cell walls are formed in a formation section having a cell density ratio of not more than 0.85 to a maximum cell density. The region having the flat shaped cell walls is inside the region having the wave shaped cell walls.

摘要: A honeycomb structure body has cell walls, inner cells and outer cells, and a boundary partition wall. The inner cells are arranged in a high cell density area and the outer cells are arranged in a low cell density area. A cell density of the high cell density area is higher than a cell density of the low cell density area. Cell reinforced parts are formed at a first intersection part at which the cell walls intersect each other. Boundary reinforced parts are formed at a second intersection part at which the cell walls and the boundary partition wall intersect each other. The honeycomb structure body satisfies a relationship of Sb>Sc, where Sb indicates an average value of a cross sectional area of the overall boundary reinforced parts, and Si indicates an average value of a cross sectional area of the overall inner cell reinforced parts.

摘要: A metal mold for manufacturing a honeycomb structure having a plurality of cell density regions and an annular boundary wall includes a honeycomb-like slit part, which is opened to an extrusion surface of a single metal mold body, that is formed of a plurality of cell slits for forming the plurality of cell density regions and an annular boundary slit for forming the boundary wall. Out of the plurality of cell slits, adjacent cell slits adjacent to the boundary slit have all corner portions formed in a round shape by the adjacent cell slits and the boundary slit.
