    Abstract: A method uses at least one BLE module disposed on a vehicle. The method at least comprises steps (i), (ii), and (iii). (i) Performing a wireless communication by establishing a communication connection with a mobile terminal. (ii) Determining a priority order for establishing the communication connection among mobile terminals based on terminal positions determined from receiving results by the BLE module which receives radio wave transmitted from the mobile terminals. (iii) Establishing communication connection of a mobile terminal, which has a higher priority order than the others, in a prevailing manner. The priority order is determined by the priority determining step. It possible to establish communication connection of a mobile terminal of a user who is presumed to need connection more than others.

    Abstract: A vehicle occupant information acquisition system including an onboard device mounted to a vehicle and at least one vehicular portable device associated with the onboard device is provided. The vehicular portable device has a function of performing short-range communication with portable terminals, determines a holder's terminal based on a variation in received signal strength indication of a signal sent from each portable terminal, and sends a holder information signal identifying the holder's terminal to the onboard device. The onboard device identifies a user holding the vehicular portable device based on the holder information signal sent from the vehicular portable device, and identifies a portable device location by receiving a response signal. A seat determined based on the portable device location is determined to be a seated location of the user acting as the portable device holder.

    Abstract: A communication device including a communicator and a communication controller is provided. The communicator has at least two communication ranges including a short communication range and a long communication range longer than the short communication range. The communication controller permits the communicator to perform communication with a terminal present in the short communication range regardless of a priority level of the terminal. The communication controller permits the communicator to perform communication with a terminal present in the long communication range and out of the short communication range when a priority level of the terminal is higher than a predetermined priority level.
