Abstract:
Partitioned chambers of an electric connector, which receive connection terminals electrically connected to windings of a stator, are communicated with an outside of the electric connector through primary communication holes. The primary communication holes are formed to direct at least one of perpendicular directions, each of which is perpendicular to a corresponding one of opening planes of outside openings of the primary communication holes, toward a downside when a central axis of a fuel pump is tilted relative to a vertical direction. In this way, a foreign object, which is accumulated in any of the portioned chambers, can be outputted to the outside through the primary communication hole even when the fuel pump is tilted in any direction.
Abstract:
A casing of a housing of a fuel pump has a bearing surface that rotatably supports an inner gear in an axial direction from a motor side while a plain bearing extends through the bearing surface. The plain bearing includes: an inner-peripheral-side step that is stepped by increasing an inner diameter of the plain bearing on a counter-motor side of the inner-peripheral-side step in the axial direction; and an outer-peripheral-side step that is stepped by increasing an outer diameter of the plain bearing on the motor side of the outer-peripheral-side step at a position that is on the motor side of the bearing surface in the axial direction.
Abstract:
A cover end of a fuel pump is formed by resin molding and has a tubular portion, which holds a bearing that is placed along a central axis of the tubular portion and rotatably supports one end portion of a shaft of a motor arrangement. Furthermore, three terminals, which supply three-phase electric power received from an outside to windings on a phase-by-phase basis, are insert molded in the cover end. In the cover end, a first transverse passage, which is formed between the first terminal and the second terminal in a circumferential direction, and a second transverse passage, which is formed between the second terminal and the third terminal in the circumferential direction, are configured into a form of V-shape, which diverges in a radially outer direction, in a view taken in an axial direction.
Abstract:
An electric motor has multiple core portions, multiple bobbins covering the respective core portions, and multiple coil windings wound on the respective core portions and bobbins. Each of the bobbins has a first and a second circumferential forward ends, at which a first and a second holding portions are formed. The first holding portion holds a winding-start portion and the second holding portion holds a winding-end portion. The winding-start portion is prevented from being brought into contact with the winding-end portion and main winding portion of the coil winding between the winding-start portion and the winding-end portion.
Abstract:
A fuel chamber is formed between a pump arrangement and a motor arrangement, and outer flow passages are formed between a stator of the motor arrangement and a housing. Fuel, which is discharged from a discharge port of the pump arrangement, is outputted to an outside of the housing from a fuel discharge conduit that is formed on a side of the motor arrangement, which is opposite from the pump arrangement, after passing through the motor arrangement. At a time of performing electroplating on the stator, electrode contact portions, to which electrodes can contact, is formed in an outer wall of the stator, which forms the outer flow passages.
Abstract:
A fuel pump unit includes a suction filter and a fuel pump. The fuel pump includes: a rotatable shaft placed along a rotational axis; a rotor portion that rotates in response to rotation of the rotatable shaft; a suction hole portion, through which the fuel is suctioned into an inside of a rotor receiving chamber; and an outer peripheral wall that surrounds the suction hole portion. The suction filter includes: a filter element that filters the fuel and conducts the filtered fuel into an inside space; and a columnar hole portion having an inner peripheral wall, while the outer peripheral wall and the inner peripheral wall are fitted with each other, so that the columnar hole portion communicates between the inside space and the suction hole portion. The columnar hole portion is placed such that the rotational axis extends on an inner side of the inner peripheral wall.
Abstract:
A motor includes a stator with a bobbin. The bobbin has a lower end winding portion, a head part retainer portion that retains a head part of a winding, and a control portion disposed between the lower end winding portion and the head part retainer portion. A head part retainer surface formed on a pump part side of the head part retainer portion and an end face formed on a pump part side of the control portion are positioned on the same plane and on a pump part side relative to a winding retainer surface that is formed on a pump part side of the lower end winding portion. Thus, when the winding is wound in layers onto the winding retainer surface of the bobbin, collapsing of a middle part of the winding onto the head part of the winding is prevented.
