Abstract: An image display device is manufactured by: applying a liquid photo-curable resin composition having a total value of cure shrinkage ratios based on pre-curing and complete curing of 3% or more to a surface of the light-transmitting cover member or a surface of the image display member with a thickness greater than that of the light-shielding layer to cancel the step between the light-shielding layer and the light-shielding layer forming surface of the light-transmitting cover member; pre-curing the photo-curable resin composition with the irradiation of ultraviolet rays to form a pre-cured resin layer; bonding the light-transmitting cover member to the image display member such that the pre-cured resin layer is placed inside; and subjecting the pre-cured resin layer to the irradiation of ultraviolet rays to achieve the complete curing thereof. The pre-curing is conducted to obtain a cure shrinkage ratio less than 3% in the complete curing thereof.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an image display device includes the step of forming a cured resin layer by interposing a photo-curable resin composition between a protection member and a display-side panel including an image display unit and a frame member and then photo-curing the photo-curable resin composition, with the photo-curable resin composition being disposed across between the image display unit and the frame member. In the manufacturing method, a high-viscosity resin composition having a viscosity of 3000 mPa·s or more and 12000 mPa·s or less is used as the photo-curable resin composition. Alternatively, after a gap between the image display unit and the frame member is sealed with a sealing film, a photo-curable resin composition is interposed between the display-side panel and the protection member.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments enable a high-luminance and high-contrast image to be displayed so that there are no defects resulting from deforming an image display part, the curable resin composition has a uniform thickness, and air bubbles are prevented in the curable resin composition. A method for producing an image display apparatus includes coating a curable resin composition onto a base and/or protective part, arranging the base and the protective part to face each other, and forming a cured resin layer between the base and the protective part, wherein the curable resin composition has a curing shrinkage ratio of 5% or less and includes polyurethane acrylate and isobornyl acrylate, and the cured resin layer has a storage modulus of 1×107 Pa or less at 25° C. and a light transmittance in a visible region of 90% or more, and wherein the curable resin composition coated onto the base or the protective part has a pattern with a prescribed shape.

Abstract: An image display device is manufactured by: applying a liquid photo-curable resin composition having a total value of cure shrinkage ratios based on pre-curing and complete curing of 3% or more to a surface of the light-transmitting cover member or a surface of the image display member with a thickness greater than that of the light-shielding layer to cancel the step between the light-shielding layer and the light-shielding layer forming surface of the light-transmitting cover member; pre-curing the photo-curable resin composition with the irradiation of ultraviolet rays to form a pre-cured resin layer; bonding the light-transmitting cover member to the image display member such that the pre-cured resin layer is placed inside; and subjecting the pre-cured resin layer to the irradiation of ultraviolet rays to achieve the complete curing thereof. The pre-curing is conducted to obtain a cure shrinkage ratio less than 3% in the complete curing thereof.
