A ratio So of a sum of areas of the dimples 18 relative to a surface area of a phantom sphere of the golf ball 2 and a ratio Rs of a number of the dimples 18 each having a diameter of not less than 9.60% and not greater than 10.37% of a diameter of the golf ball 2, relative to a total number of the dimples 18, satisfy the following mathematical formula (1). Rs≥−2.5*So+273 (1)
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball showing increased controllability on approach shots for less than 40 yards and showing excellent shot feeling. In the inventive golf ball, the paint film is formed from a curing type paint composition including: a base material containing a polyrotaxane, and a curing agent containing a polyisocyanate, and wherein the polyrotaxane has a cyclodextrin, a linear molecule included in a cyclic structure of the cyclodextrin in a manner of piercing through the cyclic structure of the cyclodextrin, and a blocking group located at both ends of the linear molecule to prevent disassociation of the cyclodextrin, and at least a part of hydroxyl groups of the cyclodextrin is modified with a caprolactone chain via —O—C3H6—O— group.

An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball showing a small ratio of a spin rate on driver shots to a spin rate on approach shots. The present invention provides a multi-piece golf ball comprising a spherical center, three or more envelope layers covering the spherical center, and a cover covering the envelope layers, wherein adjacent two envelope layers are formed so as to include a region composed of elements having a hitting deformation ratio of 30% or more, the hitting deformation ratio being obtained by analyzing a specified golf ball model by a finite element method; and the envelope layer which is radially outwardly positioned of the adjacent two envelope layers has a lowest hardness among all the envelope layers.
Abstract:
A golf ball 2 includes a core 4, a mid layer 6, and a cover 8. A hardness H75 at a point to which a distance from a central point of the core 4 is 75% of a radius of the core 4 is greater than a hardness H0 at the central point of the core 4. A difference D1=(H75−H0) is not less than 10.0 and not greater than 27.0 in Shore C hardness. A hardness Hs at a surface of the core 4 is greater than the hardness H75. A difference D2=(Hs−H75) is not less than 0 and not greater than 6.5 in Shore C hardness. The hardness H75 is less than a Shore C hardness HmC of the mid layer 6. A Shore D hardness HmD of the mid layer 6 is greater than a Shore D hardness Hc of the cover 8.
