    摘要: An image display apparatus of the present invention includes: a display panel; a signal processing unit which corrects an input video signal using correction parameters, and outputs the corrected video signal to the display panel; a power supply unit which supplies voltage to the display panel; a storage unit which stores the correction parameters; and a control unit, which, at startup of the image display apparatus, executes boosting processing for boosting voltage supplied from the power supply unit to the display panel up to a voltage required for driving the display panel in stages, and transfer processing for transferring the correction parameters from the storage unit to the signal processing unit, wherein the transfer processing is processing for intermittently transferring the correction parameters using a period when boosting is not performed in the boosting processing.

The image signal processing unit divides a luminance level of an image signal into plural areas in the signal amplitude direction in response to each split timing signal. There are provided means for detecting frequencies of luminance signals included in the respective amplitude areas, a correction quantity calculating unit for outputting correction signals based on the detected values, and an adding unit for adding the correction signals and luminance signals, which outputs results of addition as electron emission requirements to the column wiring driving unit.

    摘要: This invention discloses an arrangement allowing connection of various kinds of image displays to one supply source in an image display control system having a supply source for transmitting a signal including at least a video signal, and an image display for receiving the signal and displaying a corresponding image. The supply source acquires characteristic data of the image display when it is powered on, determines a signal communication specification with the image display based on the acquired characteristic data, and communicates a signal including the video signal with the determined communication specification. The image display transmits characteristic data for specifying the characteristics of the image display to the supply source, and communicates the signal including the video signal in accordance with the determined communication specification. This invention also discloses an arrangement permitting changing the specifications and version of the control program of the image display.
