    摘要: A getter comprising a calcium-aluminum compound including about 39% to about 43% calcium by weight produces a calcium vapor when sufficiently heated. The calcium vapor can condense to form a calcium film on an inside surface of a sealed evacuated enclosure such as a CRT to getter reactive species from the enclosed volume. The calcium-aluminum compound, preferably CaAl2 powder, can be mixed with either nickel powder, titanium powder, or both.

    摘要: A manufacturing process for the production of plasma display panels is provided which allows obtaining in a simple way displays in which getter materials deposits are present in contact with the atmosphere present in channels or cells of the display. The process includes a step of forming the getter material deposits on a free surface of the magnesium oxide layer at positions essentially corresponding to contact areas between the front glass panel and the barriers on the rear glass panel of the display panel.

    摘要: A getter system for plasma flat panel displays is disclosed. In a plasma flat panel display having front and rear panels sealingly joined together at peripheral edges thereof to define an inner space and a plurality of walls disposed within the inner space, the walls defining a series of substantially parallel secondary channels with openings at first and second ends thereof and a main channel extending along the perimeter of the front and rear panels, the getter system includes at least one nonevaporable getter device disposed within the inner space. The at least one nonevaporable getter device may be located in a portion of the main channel that faces the openings at one of the first and second ends of the secondary channels.

    摘要: An improved getter device and method for forming a calcium-rich getter thin film in an electronic vacuum device is disclosed. The getter device includes a powder of a Ca—Ba—Al ternary alloy composed of between 53% and 56.8% by weight of aluminum, from 36% to 41.7% by weight of calcium and from 1.5% to 11% by weight of barium. The method allows the formation of a calcium-rich getter thin film with a substantially reduced amount of released hydrogen in the vacuum device.

    摘要: A Field Emitter Device (FED) having a substantially reducing atmosphere is described. The atmosphere in a FED can be maintained substantially free of oxidizing gases and includes a partial pressure of hydrogen between about 1.times.10.sup.-7 millibar (mbar) and 1.times.10.sup.-3 mbar. In one embodiment, a non-evaporable getter material previously charged with hydrogen gas is placed inside the FED before the FED is sealed. The non-evaporable getter material can be charged by exposure to hydrogen gas at a pressure between about 1.times.10.sup.-4 and about 2 bar. Subsequently, the components forming the FED are sealed, and the FED is evacuated and hermetically sealed to the outside atmosphere.
