    摘要: A self-contained parts kit is created by forming a container around parts formed using a direct manufacturing process. The formation of the container is part of the same process by which the parts are formed. The container can be formed with one or more openings by which the parts can be removed. The container can also be formed with perforations in one or more surfaces to allow the parts therein to be cleaned without removing the parts, such as by shaking or by the external application of a fluid such as pressurized air. Indicia can also be formed on the container.

    摘要: A part having an integrated, discrete component is produced by direct digital manufacturing and rapid, solid free-form fabrication techniques. A CAD file representing the part is modified to include an opening in the body of the part in which the component is to be inserted. The fabrication is performed by additive layering of a thermoplastic material, preferably using fused deposition modeling or stereolithography. The layering process is interrupted to allow the component to be inserted in the partially formed part, following which additional layers are added which secure the component in the part in place and complete the physical structure of the part.

    摘要: Classification of images or other types of high-resolution data is performed by a cluster-based data classification system. The system comprises a learner module, a classification director, and a complex classifier comprising a plurality of multi-outcome data classifiers. The classification director determines particular process rules and settings to be applied to a classification request, and the complex classifier is instantiated to process the classification request in accordance with the process rules and settings determined by the classification director. The process rules and settings are adapted under control of the learner module at least in part based on results obtained in processing the classification request and one or more additional classification requests. The cluster-based data classification system may be implemented on a processing platform comprising at least one Hadoop cluster, such that the classification is performed in a parallel manner across multiple processing devices utilizing MapReduce processing.

    摘要: The Distributed Queue Switch Architecture (DQSA) family of protocols has previously focused upon fundamental research and computer-aided simulations. Distributed Queue Wireless Arbiter (DQWA), however, is the first member of the protocol family presented as a fully-drawn Medium Access Control protocol specification with cross-layering for reporting Physical layer characteristics, such as channel and state information, which can then be shared among nodes for security, quality and energy performance. DQWA has been designed for the implementation of fully interoperable DQSA networks, where disparate network types such as Cable TV and Internet Service Provider can now share a common platform for a data transmission and receiving network with a plurality of nodal apparatus for sending and receiving digital data across a cable or wireless physical network, or the logical equivalent, and where nodes can interact directly or via other nodes, and demonstrating a throughput which can achieve circuit-switched performance within a packet-switched environment.
