Abstract:
In an information processing system which has plurality of modules including a processor, a main memory and a plurality of I/O devices, a data transfer switch for performing data transfer operations between the processor, main memory and I/O devices comprises a request bus which has a request bus arbiter for receiving read and write requests from each one of the plurality of modules. A processor memory bus is configured to receive address and data information from a predetermined number of modules, including the processor. The processor memory bus has a data bus arbiter for receiving data read and write requests from each one of the predetermined number of modules which are coupled to the processor memory bus. An internal memory bus is configured to receive address and data information from a predetermined number of modules, including the memory and the I/O devices. The internal memory bus has a data bus arbiter for receiving data read and write requests from each one of the predetermined number of modules coupled to the internal memory bus. A transceiver system is coupled to the processor memory bus and the internal memory bus for transferring data between the processor memory bus and the internal memory bus.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for achieving higher efficiencies and capacities in sorting feed material are described, such as for separating desirable “good” rock or ore from undesirable “bad” rock or ore in an unsegregated, unseparated stream of feed material. Higher efficiencies are achieved with combinations of multiple sensor/diverter cells in stages in a cascade arrangement. The number and combination of cells in the cascade may be determined through a priori characterization of probabilities involved in sensor/rock and rock/diverter interactions, and mathematical determinations of the optimal number and combination of stages based on this probability. Further, desired sorting capacities are achieved through addition of multiple cascades in parallel until the desired sorting capacity is reached.
Abstract:
A ball grid array package that can be readily tested before or after mounting to a printed circuit board. The ball grid array includes a substrate having a top surface and a bottom surface. Several conductive pads are located on the top surface. Several passive circuit elements are located on the top surface between the conductive pads. An insulative coating is placed on top of the passive circuit elements and the substrate. The insulative coating has openings over the conductive pads. The openings are adapted to be accessible by an electrical probe. Conductive vias extend through the substrate between the top and bottom surfaces. The vias electrically connect with the conductive pad on the top surface. Several conductive balls are located on the bottom surface. Each conductive ball is electrically connected to one of the vias.
Abstract:
A network-based application enables participants to “street-turn” or “road-turn” ocean containers amongst themselves with ease and minimal liability exposure. A database that includes both static and dynamic memory is provided for storing information relating to each container. By interfacing with this database, participants may search for specific criteria relating to a unique container that meets the desired loading specifications of the searching participant. When found, the searching participant may contact the current user of the container to arrange for transfer of the container to the searching participant. Thus, a virtual container pool is created wherein a container may be located anywhere and usage rights and liability of the container may be transferred between participants.
Abstract:
A media centering spindle assembly with a spindle body and a clutch drive assembly. The spindle body includes a centering mechanism such as a rack and pinion or centering slat. The centering mechanism is configured to center and retain a media roll, ribbon supply or the like along the spindle body and includes at least one spring tab. The spring tab is deflectable from an initial position to a second position below a surface of the spindle body to allow the mounting of the media roll or the like. The assembly may be further configured as rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the spindle body with the clutch drive assembly having a friction level adjustable by rotation of a clutch adjuster about the longitudinal axis of the spindle body.

Methods and systems for achieving higher efficiencies and capacities in sorting feed material are described herein, such as for separating desirable “good” rock or ore from undesirable “bad” rock or ore in an unsegregated, unseparated stream of feed material. In the disclosure, higher efficiencies are achieved with combinations of multiple sensor/diverter cells in stages in a cascade arrangement. The number and combination of cells in the cascade may be determined through a priori characterization of probabilities involved in sensor/rock and rock/diverter interactions, and mathematical determinations of the optimal number and combination of stages based on this probability. Further, as disclosed herein, desired sorting capacities are achieved through addition of multiple cascades in parallel until the desired sorting capacity is reached.

Abstract:
Ethernet and Universal Serial Bus (USB) powered printing devices are provided. In particular, Ethernet and USB powered printers and methods of Ethernet powering of printers that support high speed printing and/or data intensive printing. Such high-speed and/or data intensive printing operations are able to be Ethernet or USB powered by providing for a power storage unit within the printer device that is able be charged during non-printing periods and provide for necessary energy bursts to support such higher powered processes. In addition, the present invention provides for devices and methods that allow for printers to operate with main power provided by conventional power mains and for back-up or secondary power to be supplied by Ethernet or USB power. Additionally, the invention provides for Ethernet or USB powering, both primary and back-up, of the data and configuration settings in the printer control and image generating electronics. In the back-up power mode, the Ethernet or USB power insures that data and configurations are not lost during periods of main power outage. The invention also provides a printer and method that can optimize a printing operation, e.g., by adjusting the speed of the printing operation according to the power required for the operation and/or the power available.
Abstract:
A sock comprising first and second openings positioned along the body of the sock is provided. The openings are sized sufficiently to allow a second sock to be threaded through the openings and retained to the sock thereby. Alternatively, a sock comprising a body and a channel formed in the body is provided. The channel is configured to receive and retain a portion of a second sock
