摘要： A method of thickening solvents involves reacting (A) an .ident.Si--H containing polysiloxane with (B) an alkene such as an alpha, omega-diene; conducting the reaction in the presence of a platinum catalyst and (C) a solvent; continuing the reaction until a gel is formed by crosslinking and addition of .ident.Si--H across double bonds in the alpha, omega-diene; adding additional solvent and a post cure terminating agent to the gel; and subjecting the solvent, the post cure terminating agent, and the gel to shear force until a paste is formed. The post cure terminating agent is an amino acid ester, preferably a sulfur containing amino acid ester, such as methionine methyl ester, methionine ethyl ester, cysteine methyl ester, cysteine ethyl ester, and cystine dimethyl ester.

This invention also pertains to compositions comprising the neutralized silicone elastomer and an acid reactive compound. The silicone elastomer dispersion are neutralized typically by blending the silicone elastomer dispersion with a base such as sodium bicarbonate or by adding a basic neutralizing agent to one or more of the raw materials used to make the silicone elastomer dispersion and removing the basic neutralizing agent by filtration or any other suitable means.

摘要： A multiple emulsion of the type W.sub.1 /O/W.sub.2 is made by first preparing a primary emulsion W.sub.1 /O using a silicone fluid as the oil phase (O), and an elastomeric silicone polyether as an emulsifier, for dispersing water phase W.sub.1 into oil phase (O). The primary emulsion W.sub.1 /O is then added and dispersed into a final continuous water phase W.sub.2 to form a multiple emulsion W.sub.1 /O/W.sub.2. The multiple emulsions are useful for treating the hair, the skin, or the underarm areas of the human body. Vitamins or drugs can be included in the oil phase (O) or in either aqueous phase W.sub.1 or W.sub.2 to enhance the benefits of the multiple emulsions in personal care applications.

摘要： Low molecular weight siloxane fluids are thickened by silicone elastomers. The silicone elastomers are made by crosslinking reactions of .tbd.Si--H containing siloxanes and an unsaturated hydrocarbon such as an alpha, omega-diene, in the presence of a low molecular weight siloxane fluid. The .tbd.SiH siloxane is first partially reacted with a mono-alkenyl functionalized polyether. It is then crosslinked by the alpha, omega-diene, in the presence of the low molecular weight siloxane fluid. An elastomer, i.e. gel, with polyether groups is produced. The elastomer can be swollen with the low molecular weight siloxane fluid under shear force, to provide a uniform silicone paste. The silicone paste has excellent spreadability upon rubbing, and possesses unique rheological properties in being thixotropic and shear thinning. The silicone paste can be easily emulsified with water to form a stable uniform emulsion, without using a surfactant to allow normally immiscible materials to become intimately mixed.

摘要： Silicone gels are made by reacting an .tbd.Si--H containing polysiloxane with an alpha-olefin and an alpha, omega-diene. The reaction is conducted in the presence of a platinum catalyst and in the presence of a low molecular weight silicone oil. First, an .tbd.Si--H containing polysiloxane is grafted by long chain alkyl groups from the alpha-olefin onto the .tbd.Si--H containing polysiloxane, and then crosslinked with double bonds in the alpha, omega-diene, in the presence of the low molecular weight silicone oil. The formed silicone gel can then be crumbled into a silicone powder using mechanical force. When additional amounts of the low molecular weight silicone oil are added to the gel, and the silicone oil and the gel are subjected to shear force, a silicone paste can be formed.

摘要： This invention related to silicone elastomer compositions in the form of gels and/or organized structures. The silicone elastomer compositions are produced by reacting a siloxane having a first reactive group with a crosslinker having a second reactive group in a diluent. One reactive group is selected from epoxy-functional groups or chlorohydrin functional groups while the other reactive group is a functional group that reacts with epoxy-functional groups or chlorohydrin functional groups (i.e. amine, hydroxyl). The silicone elastomer compositions of the instant invention are particularly useful in personal care products, textiles, auto care products, and laundry products and for the delivery of active ingredients.

摘要： One composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil emulsion containing a non-aqueous polar solvent phase dispersed in a silicone oil continuous phase by an emulsifier. A second composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil-in-water multiple emulsion of the type PS.sub.1 /O/w which contains a non-aqueous polar solvent phase PS.sub.1 dispersed in a silicone oil as a first continuous phase of a primary emulsion PS.sub.1 /O by an emulsifier. The primary emulsion PS.sub.1 /O is dispersed in a second continuous aqueous phase W to form multiple emulsion PS.sub.1 /O/W. A third composition is a non-aqueous polar solvent-in-oil-in-non-aqueous polar solvent multiple emulsion of the type PS.sub.1 /O/PS.sub.2 which contains a non-aqueous polar solvent phase PS.sub.1 dispersed in a silicone oil as a first continuous phase of a primary emulsion PS.sub.1 /O by an emulsifier. 摘要： Silicone liquid crystals, silicone vesicles, and silicone gels are formed by combining (i) an amine functional silicone or an organic amine compound, (ii) an organic epoxide containing at least two epoxy groups or an epoxy functional silicone containing at least two epoxy groups, and (iii) a fluid such as water, a silicone fluid other than a silicone used in (i) and (ii), and a polar organic compound or nonpolar organic compound other than organic compounds used in (i) and (ii) in which the polar and nonpolar organic compound are present at a concentration to provide a level of solids less than 40 percent by weight based on the weight of (i)-(iii). These silicone liquid crystals, silicone vesicles, and silicone gels are useful in personal care for preparing various skin, hair, and underarm products.
