    摘要: Presensitized sheets for color proofing comprising a removable carrier sheet bearing a photosensitive medium sensitive to radiation within the wavelength band 325 to 700 nm and comprising photohardenable, photoadherent, photoinsolubilisable or photosolubilisable material, the sheet including a removable antihalation layer which is removed either when stripping the carrier sheet or during subsequent processing. The antihalation dyes may be positioned within a transparent carrier sheet, in a layer on the carrier sheet opposite to the photosensitive medium or in a layer positioned between the carrier sheet and light-sensitive medium.

    摘要: An apparatus comprises a display backlight having a substrate and a plurality of light-receiving channels formed in that substrate. At least some of these channels have a depth that varies as a gradient along a longitudinal axis of the channel that is substantially axially aligned with a light-receiving input for the channel. These channels can be formed substantially parallel to one another. The aforementioned light-receiving inputs can, if desired, be formed at either end of each such channel and can be disposed inwardly of an edge of the substrate. Also if desired, at least some of these channels can be disposed other than at an orthogonal angle with respect to such substrate edges. So configured, light rays that orthogonally enter the light-receiving inputs will have an opportunity to contact the edges of the channels and be reflected outwardly of the channel to provide the desired backlighting effect.

    摘要: An improved method and apparatus for calibrating an imaging system having multiple imaging outputs such as a plurality of laser diodes. Calibration is achieved by driving each imaging output to form a test pattern on an imaging element, each test pattern having one or more image regions and each image region having a target optical property such as a target optical density. Next, an optical property, such as optical density, is measured for each image region. A response curve is generated for each set of image regions having substantially equal target optical properties. The imaging outputs are adjusted by reducing a difference between the measured optical property and the generated response curve, thereby reducing optical variations between regions that are imaged by the multiple imaging outputs.

    摘要: A color reproduction method is described using laser addressable thermal transfer donor elements which may be used to image both color proofing films and printing plates. Matched proofs and plates may be generated by direct digital address since identical transfer media are used in the respective imaging processes. In addition, each plate bears a resin image of a color that matches the color of the ink that will be used with that plate thus providing a convenient means of identification. In other words, the identity of each plate (i.e. whether it bears the y, m, c or k separation image) is immediately apparent by visual inspection, thus removing any risk of confusion and any need to provide individual plates with identification marks.

    摘要: A system and method for color characterization and transformation obtain color data representing output of a color imaging system, and convert the color data using a color space having a white reference vector that is adjusted during the conversion. The white reference vector can be adjusted according to intensities of the color data being converted. Adjustment of the white reference vector serves to avoid nonuniformities for color imaging systems having different imaging bases, and thereby eliminates, or at least reduces, the amount of empirical adjustment necessary to obtain an acceptable visual match between the color imaging systems.
