摘要: A delivery system (10) for implanting a medical device (30) such as a venous valve into the vasculature of a patient. The delivery system includes a delivery catheter (11) having a device-containing portion (15) adjacent to the distal end (14) thereof, and an inner member (16) extending through the catheter and beyond the distal end thereof, to an atraumatic distal tip portion (17) forward of the catheter distal end. Delivery catheter (11) includes inner tube (122), flat wire coil (123) compression fitted therearound, and outer tube (112) mechanically connected to roughened outer surface (126) of the inner tube through the spacing of the coil. Delivery catheter (11) can be provided with a window (184) to allow fluoroscopic visualization of a stent valve within the delivery system.

摘要: A pressure injection syringe with an actuator that includes a plunger for pressurizing viscous fluid material within a chamber. The plunger distal tip includes a high pressure seal defined by a seal member within a seal seat. The high pressure seal is viscoselective to permit air passage therepast for aspiration, and to prohibit viscous material passage therepast during actuation of the actuator wherein high pressure is applied to the material within the chamber. The viscoselective seal may be defined for example by small axial openings in the seal seat that permit aspiration of air therepast during initial plunger insertion into the chamber, but fluid escape is prohibited by the seal member when the seal member is pressed firmly against a collar of the plunger proximally adjacent the seal seat by initial engagement of the seal member with the viscous material, thus completely sealing the chamber at the proximal end thereof.

摘要: An iris-type valve assembly for controlling a flow of fluid. The assembly comprises a base member, a rotatable member, and an elongated elastomeric valve sheath. The distal end of the valve sheath is secured to the base member and the proximal end of the valve sheath is secured to the rotatable member. At least one of the valve sheath ends includes a flange that is secured to a valve-receiving surface of the base member or the rotatable member. The base member and the rotatable member are aligned to define an elongated passageway therethrough for passage of an interventional device, and the elastomeric valve sheath is disposed along the passageway and has a longitudinal opening therethrough for passage of the interventional device. Upon rotation of the rotatable member relative to the base member the longitudinal opening of the valve sheath is selectively constrictable to comprise a seal around the interventional device. The assembly may be provided with ratcheting members to inhibit recoil of the rotatable member, and rib members along the inner surface of the valve sheath to enhance the seal provided by the assembly.

摘要: According to various embodiments, a ratings matrix including matrix values is generated, each row of the ratings matrix identifying one of a plurality of users, each column of the ratings matrix identifying one of a plurality of items, and each of the matrix values corresponding to a known affinity rating describing a degree of affinity associated with one of the users and one of the items. The ratings matrix may include a missing entry representing an unknown affinity rating. According to various embodiments, a revised ratings matrix is generated by factoring the ratings matrix into a user matrix and an item matrix, the revised ratings matrix being the product of the user matrix and the item matrix and including at least one entry representing a predicted affinity rating in place of the missing entry.

摘要: A drive system for a three phase brushless AC motor is arranged to optimize the transistor switching pattern to improve power output whilst allowing current measurement in all of the phases using a single sensor. This is achieved by defining voltage demand vectors x where more than two states are required to meet a minimum state time requirement determined by the single sensor method, and calculating three or more state vectors which produce the demanded vector x whilst still allowing single current sensing. Various methods of optimising the PWM pattern so as to give maximum output whilst using single current sensing are also disclosed.
