摘要: A print storage medium comprises a heat-generating layer for generating heat with an electrical signal input in accordance with a picture, the signal being supplied from a printing signal applying electrode to which the heat-generating layer is in pressure contact, an electrically conductive layer, an ink layer provided on the heat generated layer. The print storage medium is further provided with a plurality of microscopic electrodes on the storage medium with which the printing signal-applying electrode is in pressure contact, each of the microscopic electrodes being isolated from others. The electrically conductive layer may be formed of striped electrodes. The isolated microscopic patterns may be formed of electrically conductive ceramics or of electrically conductive resin.

摘要: A current-conducting thermosensitive recording media used for non-impact recording which attains better energy efficiency and higher printing speeds through a thermosensitive recording ink medium comprising: a stratified ink support in which electrical conductivity in the direction of the thickness is greater than the electrical conductivity in the direction of the surface; a thermogenetic resistor layer for producing heat; a return electrode layer; a thermally melting ink layer; and an ink separating layer. The thermogenetic resistor layer, the electrode layer, the ink separating layer, and the thermally melting ink layer are laminated on the ink support in that order.

摘要: A thermal-electrostatic ink jet recording head is formed of two spaced-apart insulating substrates with an electrostatic field forming electrode and an array of electric heating elements in the slit between the substrates. The heating elements are paired and each of the adjacent heating elements of a pair joined by a common electrode, with each heater having an independent electrode connectable to a switching circuit for selectively heating portions of the ink under the influence of an electrostatic field to cause ink in the heated portions to be jetted. The common electrode preferably is U-shaped with each of its free ends connected to the inner ends of the adjacent electrodes of a pair.

摘要: An ink-jet recording head wherein thermal energy and an electroelastic field are applied to ink held between two plate members to cause the ink to be jetted out from an orifice defined by the plate members wherein there is provided, on the orifice-side end portion of each of the plate members adjacent the orifice, a first area readily wettable by the ink and a second area away from the orifice which is less wettable by the ink.

摘要: A thermal electrostatic ink-jet recording apparatus includes an orifice for storing and jetting ink. The orifice is formed between first and second plate members and a longitudinal array of heating elements is formed on one of the plate members and is covered by an insulating layer. An electrically conductive layer is formed either on the insulating layer or the other plate member and cooperates with a counter electrode supporting a recording medium to apply an electrostatic field to ink in the orifice. The electrically conductive layer includes a central portion that extends substantially to the egress of the orifice in the area where ink is contained in the orifice and peripheral portions on either side of the orifice that are not in contact with the ink and that are spaced substantially away from the egress of the orifice. The spacing of the peripheral portion away from the egress of the orifice prevents a gas discharge phenomenon that induces instability in ink jetting.

摘要: In electrostatic latent image developing process capable of effecting either positive or negative reproduction a magnetic toner of a high resistivity is controlled to form a magnetic brush having a potential insufficient for development. The toner chain constituting the brush is separated under the influence of an electric field between the developing roll and the image carrier, to produce toner particles having one polarity continuing with the developing roll, and particles of the opposite polarity transferred to the carrier.

摘要: In a magnetically recording and erasing the magnetic latent image on the magnetic recording medium, the magnetic recording medium includes a base layer, a first magnetic layer in which a repetitive magnetic pattern is in advance formed, and a second magnetic layer on which the magnetic latent image to be formed is thermo-magnetically formed. A method of erasing the magnetic latent image on the second magnetic layer includes the steps of simultaneously applying an external magnetic field and heat to be thermally magnetized layer of a magnetic recording medium.
