In a method for testing the thermally induced unbalance of a rotating machine part, in particular the rotor of a turbogenerator, the rotating machine part or the rotor balanced at normal temperature is brought in the demounted state first to nominal rotational speed and held at this, while its temperature is varied and, at the same time, the transient variations in oscillations of the rotating machine part or rotor which are caused are measured. During the test, the rotating machine part or the rotor is surrounded at least partially by a closed heating cell, a cooling medium flows around and/or flows through the rotating machine part or the rotor in the heating cell, and the heating of the rotating machine part or of the rotor takes place essentially due to the flow-dynamic losses arising from the interaction of the rotating machine part or of the rotor with the circulating cooling medium.

The covering channels are formed with axially stepped ends at the ends of the rotor body. However, such methods generally cannot be employed for ammunition including a combustible or at least partially combustible propelling charge casing because of the lower strength of the relatively thin-walled combustible casing material, as this would lead to deformation and/or to reduced loadability of such cartridges. The present invention permits the compaction or partial compaction of the propelling charge powder of an ammunition unit including a combustible propelling charge casing in that a pressing mold or matrix is employed which directly encloses the propelling charge casing, with an appropriate annular gap being left free between the inner surface of the propelling charge casing and the outer surface of the press die in dependence on the grain dimension of the propelling charge powder grains to be compacted so that the propelling charge powder can be compacted almost without shear forces with respect to the inner surface of the propelling charge casing.

A method and system that enhances a user's experience when using a near eye display device, such as a see-through display device or a head mounted display device is provided. An optimized image for display relative to the a field of view of a user in a scene is created. The user's head and eye position and movement are tracked to determine a focal region for the user. A portion of the optimized image is coupled to the user's focal region in the current position of the eyes, a next position of the head and eyes predicted, and a portion of the optimized image coupled to the user's focal region in the next position.
