摘要: A high-temperature and high-pressure simulator for a deep in-situ environment is provided. The simulator includes a high-fidelity sample chamber, where a lower end of the high-fidelity sample chamber is provided with a bottom cylinder. A lower end of the bottom cylinder is provided on a base. A piston rod of the bottom cylinder extends into the high-fidelity sample chamber, and an upper end of the piston rod is provided with a rock sample seat. An upper end of the high-fidelity sample chamber is provided with a rock sample cap. The top of the high-fidelity sample chamber is sealed by an end cap of the high-fidelity sample chamber. An upper end of the end cap of the high-fidelity sample chamber is provided with a multi-section coring drill chamber. The uppermost section of the coring drill chamber is connected to a lift cylinder.

摘要: A method of generating, from a first thermal model describing the individual thermal behaviour of an electrical machine and a second thermal model describing the individual thermal behaviour of a device, a composite thermal model describing the thermal behaviour of a system having the electrical machine connected to the device, the method including: a) connecting at least one geometric entity of one of the first thermal model and the second thermal model to a plurality of geometric entities of the other one of the first thermal model and the second thermal model, each connection including at least one of a heat source and a thermal impedance, wherein the first thermal model and the second thermal model connected to each other form an initial composite thermal model, b) comparing measured temperatures with corresponding estimated temperatures obtained from the initial composite thermal model, and in case an estimated temperature deviates with more than a threshold value from a measured temperature, c) adjusting at least one of a thermal impedance and a heat source between a pair of geometric entities connected in step a).

摘要: The present disclosure models the testing of oilfield electronic equipment that operate in high temperature downhole environments (possibly with large vibrational loading) in order to quantify the damage to the electronic equipment over its expected operational lifetime. The simulated downhole environment is complex and includes coupled random vibration and thermal cycling followed by repeated shock at high temperature. In embodiments, the proposed methods and system measure non-linear damage accumulation of the electronic equipment in this simulated downhole environment.

摘要: A method for measuring load performance of a positive displacement motor (PDM) test coupon. The test coupon comprises a partial length of a PDM stage and is received inside a sealable test chamber. In some embodiments, the test coupon may be cut from a failed PDM stage. The test chamber is filled with test fluid. In some embodiments, the test fluid may be drilling fluid sampled from a live well. Rotation of the rotor on the test coupon actuates rotation of the stator. A braking torque is applied to the stator rotation, enabling evaluation of, for example, fatigue load performance of test coupon. Additional embodiments comprise the rotor axis and the stator axis being offset in order to simulate rotor/stator eccentricity in a full size PDM stage.
