    摘要: Interconnection structures for integrated circuits have a first array of cells, at least a second array of cells parallel to the first array, and interconnections disposed for connecting cells of the first array with cells of the second array, at least some of the interconnections being disposed along axes oriented obliquely to the first and second arrays. First and second sets of oblique axes of interconnections may be parallel or opposed to each other. The interconnections may include obliquely slanted pillars or stair-stepped pillars disposed along the oblique axes. Methods for fabricating and using such structures are disclosed.

    摘要: A writeboard according to an embodiment of the invention includes plural display cells capable of controlling light within a visible-light spectrum, the display cells being arranged over a display surface of the writeboard. The writeboard also typically includes plural memory cells coupled with the display cells, and plural first receivers arranged with the display cells and the memory cells over the display surface. The first receivers typically are configured to receive transmitted writing information and to communicate the transmitted writing information to corresponding memory cells for storage. Corresponding display cells thus may be selectively activated in accordance with the transmitted writing information.

    摘要: An optically addressable display includes a plurality of receptor and emitter pairs where each pair is for receiving optical display information and for generating light indicative of the display information. Each individual receptor and emitter pair is coupled electrically by an associated control circuit that facilitates driving the emitter so it generates either the received display information or annotation information generated by a light wand that is capable of being optically coupled to individual ones of the plurality of receptors. Each control circuit has a pulse density capture circuit that receives a pulse train signal indicative of a desired brightness or hue levels and drives an individual one of the emitters on and off at a determined duty cycle to produce the desired brightness or hue levels. In another embodiment sets of receptor and emitter pairs are grouped in cells, where each cell is capable of generating N of shades of different colors.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for positioning an optical labeling mechanism substantially close to a particular track of a labeling surface on an optical disk. The method can include the operation of positioning the optical labeling mechanism adjacent to the particular track. A further operation can be measuring a first surface texture of the labeling surface using the optical labeling mechanism. Another operation can involve positioning the optical labeling mechanism adjacent to a different track. A further operation can be moving the optical labeling mechanism from the different track toward the particular track location. Another operation can involve measuring a second surface texture of the labeling surface using the optical labeling mechanism. A further operation can be comparing the first and second surface textures to determine if the optical labeling mechanism is positioned substantially near the particular track.
