    摘要: A system, method and apparatus for demodulating a received signal using a configurable receiver. The receiver performs the demodulation of a signal according to a selected interference cancellation demodulation scheme. The same receiver can be configured, by setting certain parameters, to behave as a successive interference cancellation (SIC) scheme receiver, a parallel interference cancellation (PIC) scheme receiver, or a hybrid interference cancellation (HIC) scheme receiver. In another aspect of the present invention, the receiver performs its demodulation operation using a single interference cancellation unit (ICU). In addition, the ICU's despreading and respreading functions may be performed by the same processing element.

    摘要: A high-power point (110) and one or more low-power points (120) transmit signals that are associated with the same cell-identifier in a heterogeneous cell deployment. The coverage areas corresponding to the low-power points (120) fall at least partly within the coverage area for the high-power point (110), so that mobile stations (130) within range of a low-power point are also within range of the high-power point (110), from a downlink perspective. The same CRS signals are transmitted by both the high-power (macro) point (110) and some or all of the low-power (pico) points (120). At the same time, the network transmits CRS-based PDSCH for a particular UE on both the high-power point (110) as well as on some or all of the low-power points (120). In some embodiments only a subset of the points, e.g., those points that the UE hears sufficiently well, participate in the PDSCH transmission using CRS for channel estimation.

    摘要: A high-power point and one or more low-power points transmit signals associated with the same cell-identifier in a heterogeneous cell deployment. Coverage areas corresponding to the low-power points fall at least partly within the coverage area for the high-power point, so that mobile stations within range of a low-power point are also within range of the high-power point. Channel-state-information reference symbols, CSI-RS, are transmitted using different CSI-RS resources on different transmission points within the cell, while configuration of CSI-RS measurement resources is conducted on a UE-specific basis. The choice of measurement resources to be used is determined by the network, based on the properties of the channels from the transmission points to the UE. As the UE moves around within the cell, the network tracks the channel properties and reconfigures the CSI-RS resources measured by the UE, to correspond to the resource of the closest transmission point or points.

    摘要: A cellular communications system that utilizes OFDM in its radio interface is capable of utilizing either a first subcarrier spacing or a second subcarrier spacing. Which of these is presently in use is indicated by generating a first type of synchronization signal in response to the first subcarrier spacing presently being in use, and generating a second type of synchronization signal in response to the second subcarrier spacing presently being in use. Whichever of the first type of synchronization signal and the second type of synchronization signal was generated is transmitted. To distinguish between the first and second types of synchronization signals, a time domain representation of the second type of synchronization signal includes a plurality of instances of the first type of synchronization signal.

A collective positioning measurement order (50) is issued to a multitude of mobile terminals (40) in a first cell (10) of the cellular communication system (1). This issuing is preferably performed intermittently at a multitude of times according to a predetermined rule. Each mobile terminal (40) receives information concerning a collective positioning measurement order. The mobile terminal (40) performs a positioning operation, typically a positioning measurement on a ranging signal (51, 52) or transmission of a ranging signal (53), preferably intermittently at a multitude of times, according to a predetermined rule based on the information concerning the collective positioning measurement order. An updating of a storage with positioning data can preferably be obtained. In terrestrially based positioning systems, signal resources dedicated to positioning measurement can be reserved in the cellular communication system.
