    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a wavelength conversion film having excellent durability. The problem is solved by providing a wavelength conversion film including: a wavelength conversion layer and base materials sandwiching the wavelength conversion layer therebetween; and a welded portion in which the base materials are welded to each other on an outer side in a surface direction of the wavelength conversion layer, in which the base materials have a support having a vapor permeability less than or equal to 10 g/(m2·day) and a first organic layer, which is formed on one surface side of the support and formed of polyvinyl alcohol or a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer, and have the wavelength conversion layer sandwiched therebetween while the support faces outward.

    Abstract: A polarizing plate includes an outer protective film and a polarizer. The sum S of the product of the modulus of elasticity and the cube of the thickness in each layer is up to 150,000 Pa·mm3, and the value obtained by dividing the sum S by the Knoop hardness k of the outer protective film is 200 or more but up to 450. The polarizing plate is excellent in surface pencil hardness even when its thickness is reduced.

    Abstract: An object is to provide: a wavelength conversion film in which deterioration of wavelength conversion particles caused by oxygen can be prevented and optical characteristics are also excellent; and a method of manufacturing the wavelength conversion film. The object is achieved with the wavelength conversion film including: a wavelength conversion layer; and a substrate that supports the wavelength conversion layer, in which the wavelength conversion layer includes a polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree in a range of 86 to 97 mol % and cured product particles of a (meth)acrylate compound including wavelength conversion particles.

    Abstract: A phosphor-containing film suppresses deterioration of a phosphor and generation of luminescent spots and the reduction in luminance, and a backlight unit. The phosphor-containing film includes: a phosphor-containing layer having a resin layer which has oxygen impermeability and discrete concave portions, and fluorescent regions arranged in the concave portions, and a first substrate film laminated on one surface of the phosphor-containing layer and a second substrate film laminated on the opposing surface, in which the fluorescent regions contain the phosphor that deteriorates through a reaction with oxygen, and a binder, the first substrate film includes a support film and an inorganic layer provided on a surface of the support film on a side facing the phosphor-containing layer, the resin layer has a modulus of elasticity of 0.5 to 10 GPa, and a thickness of the bottom of the concave portion of the resin layer is 0.1 to 20 μm.

    Abstract: A phosphor-containing film capable of suppressing deterioration of phosphor and capable of suppressing generation of luminescent spots and the reduction in luminance due to a defect of the resin layer. The film includes: a phosphor-containing layer having a resin layer which has impermeability to oxygen and is provided with a plurality of discretely arranged concave portions, and a plurality of fluorescent regions, each of which is arranged in the concave portion of the resin layer and contains a phosphor that deteriorates through a reaction with oxygen when exposed to oxygen; and a first substrate film and a second substrate film, which are respectively laminated on one main surface and the other main surface of the phosphor-containing layer, in which the fluorescent regions contain a binder and quantum dots serving as the phosphor.
