    摘要: A method and apparatus for a color filter that utilizes a wavelength conversion material such as phosphor to filter an input light. The input light contains unwanted shorter wavelength light and wanted longer wavelength light. The wavelength conversion material converts the light in the unwanted shorter wavelength range to the wanted longer wavelength range, and transmits the light in the wanted longer wavelength range, to generate an output light in the longer wavelength range. The filter may be a transmissive type of a reflective type. The filter may be constructed as a moving filter such as a rotating wheel.

    摘要: A light emitting device and a projection system adopting same. The light emitting device comprises a coherent source generating coherent light, a diffusing element, and a light guide part. The diffusing element includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other. The diffusing element disperses the coherent light to generate incoherent light. The light guide part is provided on the side of the first surface of the diffusing element and guides the coherent light from the coherent source onto the first surface to form a first light path, guides a part of incoherent light from the first surface through the first light path, guides the remaining incoherent light through a second path, and separates the first and second light paths. The luminous flux of the incoherent light emitting through the first light path is less than that of the incoherent light emitting through the second light path.

    摘要: A light emitting device and a projection system adopting same. The light emitting device (100) comprises a coherent source (110), a diffusing element (120), and a light guide part (140). The coherent source (110) is used for generating coherent light. The diffusing element (120) includes a first surface (121) and a second surface (122) which are opposite to each other, and the diffusing element (120) is used for dispersing the coherent light coming from the coherent source (110) so as to generate incoherent light. The light guide part (140) is provided on the side of the first surface (121) of the diffusing element (120). The light guide part (140) is used for guiding the coherent light emitting from the coherent source (110) to be incident on the first surface (121) so as to form a first light path, guiding a part of incoherent light emitting from the first surface (121) to emit through the first light path, guiding the remaining incoherent light to emit through a second path, and separating the first path and the second path. The luminous flux of the incoherent light emitting through the first light path is less than that of the incoherent light emitting through the second light path.

    摘要: A solid state light source device for generating a constant broad band light useful in multiple SLM projectors. The light source device includes a blue or UV/near UV excitation light and a moving plate carrying wavelength conversion materials to convert the excitation light into a broad band light. The wavelength conversion materials include red, green, yellow and/or blue phosphors, and may pass some of the blue excitation light. The broad band light outputted by the phosphor plate includes at least two primary color components and has a constant intensity and spectrum as a function of time. The solid state light source device further includes a second light source such as a blue light source, and a light combination device which combines the output light of the moving phosphor plate and the light from the second light source into one beam of constant, broad band light.

    摘要: A light source comprising an excitation light source (110) for providing excitation light, and an optical wavelength conversion member disposed at a distance from the excitation light source. The optical wavelength conversion member comprises an optical wavelength conversion material (150) for converting the excitation light into stimulated light. The light source also comprises an optical-guiding member that allows the excitation light to be incident on the optical wavelength conversion material, and an optical-collecting member (130A) for collecting stimulated light originating from the optical wavelength conversion material. To separate the paths of the stimulated light and the excitation light, the etendue of the optical-guiding member is less than or equal to ¼ of the etendue of the optical-collecting member. This allows the optical-guiding member to draw in the excitation light while preventing the excessive escape of the stimulated light through the optical-guiding member. The advantages of the light source are that it can separate the paths of the excitation light and the stimulated light, the light path is simple, and the optical members are easy to manufacture.

The light source device includes a light recycling system to reflect small-angle lights (lights closer to the normal direction of the light emitting surface) back to the light source, and a collection system for collecting and outputting large-angle lights (lights farther away from the normal direction). The lights reflected by the light recycling system is scattered by the emitting surface in all directions, where the large-angle scattered lights are collected by the light collection system and the small-angle scattered light is reflected by the light recycling system again. A second excitation light source without wavelength conversion material or a second light source with its own wavelength conversion material may be provided, and the second light is directed to the light emitting surface by appropriate optical components.

    摘要: An illumination devices using excitation light and a wavelength conversion material to generated converted light for illumination, where the wavelength conversion material is excited by multiple excitation lights from both sides to achieve increased brightness. The excitation lights incident on the two sides of the wavelength conversion material may have the same color or different colors. Light separation structures are provided on both sides of the wavelength conversion material to separate the excitation light and the converted light. Light separation may be based on color difference or etendue difference of the excitation light and converted light. In one particular example, wavelength conversion material is formed on a surface of an LED which acts as the first excitation light source, and a second excitation light is delivered through a light separation structure onto the other side of the wavelength conversion material.
