Abstract: A method for operating an access node includes sending a configuration of one or more first channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resources and a configuration of one or more sounding reference signal (SRS) resources, generating first control information including an identifier of a SRS resource set that includes the one or more SRS resources precoded by one or more precoders, generating second control information including an identifier of the one or more first CSI-RS resources, wherein the one or more first CSI-RS resources are associated with the identified SRS resource set, wherein the one or more first CSI-RS resources convey a downlink reference signal (RS) used for making measurements, and wherein the one or more precoders are determined in accordance with measurements of the downlink RS, sending the first control information and the second control information, and sending the downlink RS.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for managing and mitigation contention of high reliability and low latency transmissions in wireless communications networks. According to an embodiment, a network entity indicates a first grant to a first device associated with a first service. The first grant includes a first resource for transmitting for the first service and a second resource for retransmitting for the first service. The network entity also indicates a second grant to a second device associated with a second service. The second grant includes the first resource for transmitting for the second service and a third resource for retransmitting for the second service. A third grant is also indicated to a third device associated with a third service. The third grant includes the first resource for transmitting for the third service. The first service and the second service have higher transmission reliability and latency requirements than the third service.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for selecting beams for non-codebook based uplink multiple-input and multiple-output are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method implemented by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving an allocation of at least one sounding reference signal (SRS) resource in an uplink subframe from a transmission and reception point (TRP) for a first set of uplink transmission beams, transmitting precoded SRSs in the at least one SRS resource to the TRP, wherein the precoded SRSs are precoded with UE-selected precoders and at least one rank and receiving an identification of two or more precoders for a second set of uplink transmission beams, wherein the second set of uplink transmission beams is selected from the first set of uplink transmission beams, and wherein the two or more precoders are based on the precoded SRSs.

Abstract: A dynamic UE capability message specifying a number of beams to be evaluated within different groups of UE TX beam directions associated with different antenna arrays of a UE may be communicated to a transmit receive point (TRP). Each group of UE TX beam directions may include beam directions that are candidates for uplink data transmission. Based on information in the dynamic UE capability message, the TRP can assign SRS resources (for uplink beam management or uplink channel sounding) and/or schedule a multi-layer MIMO uplink transmission in accordance with a UE capability constraint. This may ensure that the SRS resources assignment and/or scheduled multi-layer MIMO uplink transmission is consistent with the UE's beamforming capabilities.
