    摘要: LED based lamps are disclosed. In an embodiment, an LED based lamp includes a concave optical diffuser, a concave neodymium-doped glass bulb, a reflector, a printed circuit board that includes a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) configured to emit light, and a heat sink body. The concave optical diffuser has a first interior volume, and the concave neodymium-doped glass bulb is positioned within the first interior volume. The neodymium-doped glass bulb defines a second interior volume, and both the reflector and the printed circuit board are positioned within the second interior volume. The reflector includes a sloped annular wall with an inner reflective surface and an outer reflective surface, and a bottom portion of the reflector is connected to the printed circuit board. The heat sink is thermally connected to the printed circuit board and to the reflector.

    摘要: Processes for recovering inorganic powder materials from polymer-based coating compositions used to deposit a polymer-based coating. The process includes combining a polymer precursor, first solvent, and inorganic powder material to form a suspension, and applying the suspension to a substrate to form a layer. At least a portion of the suspension that did not adhere to the substrate is then collected. Residual portions of the first solvent and polymer precursor are at least partially removed from this portion of the suspension to yield a crude inorganic powder material comprising a residual portion of the inorganic powder and optionally a partially-cured polymer precursor, the latter of which can be removed by treating the crude inorganic powder material with a second solvent.

In some embodiments, a method comprises: determining target color characteristics for light produced by a lighting system of a first type; for each one of a plurality of lighting systems of the first type: (a) measuring color characteristics of light produced by the one of the plurality of lighting systems; (b) determining characteristics of a phosphor layer to be disposed on a reflector of the one of the plurality of lighting systems; and (c) disposing a phosphor layer having the determined characteristics on the reflector of the one of the plurality of lighting systems.

    摘要: Methods and materials capable of controlling the type and relative amounts of reflectance (e.g., specular vs. diffusive reflection) in reflective coatings, especially for inclusion in a lighting fixture or other lighting source. A method of forming a reflective coating on a substrate includes applying to the substrate a precursor material that comprises a cross-linkable binder resin, a cross-linking agent, and scattering pigment particles. The pigment particles are predominantly at or near an outer surface of the applied precursor material. Thereafter, the applied precursor material undergoes a single or multistep cure to form the reflective coating by cross-linking the binder resin. The cure energy level and duration inhibit migration of the pigment particles and/or the binder resin in the applied precursor material so that the pigment particles remain predominantly at or near an outer surface of the reflective coating.
