Abstract:
Cables including a heat-reflective layer are disclosed. The heat-reflective layer includes a polymeric layer and metal particles. The metal particles are on or near the exposed surface of the heat-reflective layer. Methods of making a heat-reflective layer and cables including a heat-reflective layer rare also disclosed.
Abstract:
An electrical cable includes a plurality of conductors forming a conductor core, one or more insulation layers at least partially surrounding at least one of the plurality of conductors, an outer jacket surrounding the conductor core and a film applied to the exterior surface of the outer jacket. The film includes high visibility particles. Methods of forming electrical cables are also described herein.
Abstract:
Linear low-density polyethylene polymers used to form covering layers for cables are disclosed. Such polymers exhibit certain molecular weight distributions suitable to form the covering layers for the cable. The polymer can be crosslinked to exhibit suitable properties including retained elongation at break values and hot set values.

Abstract:
A cable having one or more conductors with a polymeric covering layer and a non-extruded coating layer formed of a material based on a liquid composition including a polymer resin and an antimicrobial additive. Methods of forming cables are also provided.
Abstract:
Thermally conductive compositions exhibiting a thermal conductivity of 0.30 W/mK or more include a base polyolefin, a halogenated flame retardant, a non-halogenated flame retardant, and a flame retardant synergist. Cables include insulation and/or jacket layers formed of such thermally conductive compositions.
Abstract:
Cables including a fire-retardant composition are disclosed. The fire-retardant compositions include an oxygen-containing base polymer, a primary filler, and an antimony-containing secondary filler. The primary filler can be a metal hydroxide. The fire-retardant composition can be halogen-free and exhibit an elongation at break of about 150% or more. The cable passes the UL 1581 VW-1 flame.
