摘要: The present disclosure provides a method for forming a pre-lithiated layered anode material. The method includes removing cations from a precursor material including a layered ionic compound to form creates a two-dimensional structure that defines a layered anode material. The method further includes inserting lithium ions using an anion insertion wet-chemical process into the layered anode materials to form the pre-lithiated layered anode material. The anion insertion wet-chemical process can be the same as or different form the cation extraction wet-chemical process. In each instance, the precursor material is be represented by MX2, where M is one of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) and X is one of silicon (Si), germanium (Ge), and boron (B) and the precursor material has alternating layers of M and X.

摘要: A layered catalyst structure for purifying an exhaust gas stream includes a catalyst support and a palladium catalyst layer including an atomic dispersion of palladium ions electrostatically adsorbed onto an exterior surface of the catalyst support. The catalyst support includes an alumina substrate, a first ceria layer disposed on and extending substantially continuously over the alumina substrate, and a second colloidal ceria layer formed directly on the first ceria layer over the alumina substrate. The palladium catalyst layer is formed on the exterior surface of the catalyst support by applying a palladium-containing precursor solution to the exterior surface of the catalyst support and then heating the catalyst support and the palladium-containing precursor solution. The palladium-containing precursor solution includes a positively charged palladium complex in an aqueous medium and has a pH greater than a point of zero charge of the second colloidal ceria layer.

摘要: A method for extracting lithium from lithium-based materials to be recycled using an electrochemical reactor includes applying a voltage to a current collector at least partially disposed in an electrolyte carried by the electrochemical reactor, where the lithium-based materials including lithium to be recovered is disposed in the electrolyte and lithium ions move from the lithium-based material towards the current collector upon application of the voltage. In certain variations, the method may also include, prior to the application of the voltage, applying a current to the current collector.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a layered catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas stream includes introducing a mixture of colloidal ceria, alumina particles, and a liquid medium into a drying chamber via an atomizer to form atomized droplets of the mixture. A drying gas is introduced into the drying chamber such that the atomized droplets contact the drying gas, the liquid medium is removed from the atomized droplets, and ceria nanoparticles deposit on the alumina particles to form composite catalyst support particles. A catalyst precursor including a rhodium precursor and colloidal ceria is applied to the composite catalyst support particles. The composite catalyst support particles and the catalyst precursor are heated to form the layered catalyst. The layered catalyst includes an alumina substrate, a ceria nanoparticle layer extending substantially continuously over the alumina substrate, and a rhodium catalyst layer including an atomic dispersion of rhodium adsorbed on the ceria nanoparticle layer.
