Abstract:
The present invention relates to an active sound absorber (3) for an exhaust system (1) of an internal combustion engine, preferably of a motor vehicle, comprising a housing (7), a connecting pipe (8) for the acoustic and fluidic connecting of the housing (7) with the exhaust system (1), an active membrane (10) which in the housing (7) separates a front volume (12), fluidically connected with the connecting pipe (8), from a back volume (13), and an actuator (11) for vibration stimulation of the active membrane (10).A risk of damage by condensate in the back volume (13) can be reduced by at least one condensation line (14), which fluidically connects the back volume (13) with the front volume (12), in which vapor contained in the exhaust gas condenses, and which directs the condensate which occurs to the front volume (12).
Abstract:
An exhaust system (3) of an internal combustion engine (2) is provided in a support structure (1), especially in a motor vehicle (1), with at least one exhaust pipe (8), which guides exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine (2) to the environment (4) of the support structure (1). At least one exhaust muffler (5) is provided which has at least one resonance volume (6) and at least one connection line (7), via which the respective resonance volume (6) is connected to the respective exhaust pipe (8) for transmitting airborne sound. A space-saving accommodation is obtained if at least one such resonance volume (6) is formed in a resonance chamber (9) arranged rigidly in or at the support structure (1) and if the respective connection line (7), with which the respective resonance chamber (9) is connected to the respective exhaust pipe (8), is designed as a flexible connection line and permits relative movements between the respective resonance chamber (9) and respective exhaust pipe (8).
Abstract:
An exhaust gas treatment device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a housing that is adapted to be tied into the exhaust system and at least one exhaust gas purification insert arranged in the housing. The exhaust gas purification insert includes an insert housing which is open at one end and at least one exhaust gas purification element arranged in the insert housing. The housing has at least one insert bracket which has at least one mounting opening on whose opening edge is supported an end section of the insert housing in the form of a ring. The end section forms a first spherical shell segment and the opening edge forms either a second spherical shell segment that is complementary to the first spherical shell segment or a conical jacket segment that fits the first spherical shell segment.
Abstract:
The present invention to an active muffler for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle, includes a multi-shell housing having a pot-shaped top shell and a pot-shaped bottom shell, a funnel-shaped sound conducting body, which is inserted into the bottom shell and has a connection passing through the bottom shell and out of the housing, a loudspeaker, which is situated in the top shell and is attached to a flange section of the sound conducting body at a distance from the connection, such that a free inside cross section of the sound conducting body surrounded by the flange section is closed with an airtight seal, and a bypass through which an interior space of the top shell is connected to an interior space of the bottom shell so they communicate.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sliding fit for the axially movable bearing of a thermally loaded pipe on a component, in particular on an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, having a wire mesh which is radially supported on the outside of the pipe and is secured directly or indirectly to the component.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a static mixer for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine. The mixer has a wall structure that is arranged across the directional of flow in a pipe and has several layers of a corrugated sheeting material laying across one another in the direction of flow. The cells through which the flow can pass in the direction of flow are provided between the sheeting material of neighboring layers. The sheeting material has baffles for all or several of the cells. The baffles are arranged on the sheeting material so that they are arranged on their outgoing flow side in the case of said cells and extend in the direction of flow and across it.
Abstract:
Device for the catalytic cleaning of or soot removal from exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, comprising a housing that has two open end zones connected to an exhaust gas line and a flow passage for the exhaust gases between the end zones. Two flow-carrying exhaust gas treating bodies are held in housing one behind another in the direction of flow and at spaced locations from one another. A protective ring, is provided surrounding the space between the two exhaust gas treating bodies on the outside. The protective ring is held in the housing in a form-fit manner in the axial direction by a holding member surrounding it on the outside. An axial clearance is provided between the protective ring and at least of the two exhaust gas treating bodies in the installed state.
Abstract:
The holding of a catalytically-active monolith in a housing in the exhaust line of a liquid fuel-operated motor is done by a holder made of a knitting wrapped about a catalyst monolith. The knitting includes a segment with an undeformed thread area, where one or more sealing strips are accommodated, so that the holding qualities are improved with good prevention of a by-passing gas flow about the monolith, and the sealing strip is protected against abrasion and destruction and is securely retained in its position.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an exhaust system for a combustion engine, more preferably of a road vehicle, with at least one exhaust gas-conducting component having a ring-shaped closed inner wall in circumferential direction, whose inner side is exposed to the exhaust gas.The energetic efficiency of the combustion engine can be improved with at least one thermoelectric generator which converts heat into electric energy and which is arranged on an outer side of the inner wall.
