    摘要: In order to provide improved cooling for electrical machinery, especially A. C. generators for motor vehicles, with elimination of a rotating ventilating fan, the invention provides heat pipes disposed so that the evaporation regions of the heat pipes contact or surround the heat-producing parts of the generator, in particular the stator windings and the rectifying diodes. These regions communicate through sealed conduits with condensation regions that are located in places subject to lower temperatures that prevail near the heat producing elements. Disposed within the heat pipes are per se known capillary structures which transport condensed heat transport medium back to the evaporation region. Various embodiments are presented.

    摘要: What follows is a description of an improvement in equipment for the exhaust gas detoxification of internal combustion engines. An insulated heat pipe is provided which transfers heat from the engine's exhaust manifold to an exhaust gas reactor. The heat pipe contains a first zone serving as an evaporation zone, a second zone serving as a transport zone for transporting a working medium between the first zone and a third zone. The third zone serves as a condensation zone. The heat pipe has an interior capillary tube along which the condensed heat transfer medium flows toward the heat source and within which the vaporized medium flows toward the heat sink.

    摘要: A control apparatus for a fuel supply system for mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engines is proposed, which serves to interrupt the fuel supply to the engine during overrunning. The control apparatus comprises sensors which furnish signals according to the attitude of the throttle valve, as well as the rpm of the internal combustion engine and the temperature of a catalytic converter situated in the exhaust pipe, and further comprises means for the evaluation of these signals as well as for the interruption of the fuel supply to the internal combustion engine and the introduction of supplementary air during overrunning at catalytic converter temperatures above the proper operating temperature for that device.

    摘要: A portion of the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine is returned to the induction manifold through an exhaust gas recycling line. This recycle line contains one or more orifice plates to create a measurable pressure drop when gas is flowing. The gas flow through the recycle line may be interrupted in controlled manner by a valve, particularly a magnetically actuated valve. The pressure drop across the orifice plate or plates is sensed by pressure-responsive electrical switches which provide input signals for a logical circuit that energizes a signaling device to warn the operator of a malfunction in the exhaust gas recycling system.

    摘要: The exhaust system of an internal combustion engine which includes one or several, sequential catalytic reactors is provided with a bypass channel through which some portion of the exhaust gases may be diverted. This diversion takes place whenever the gas flow rate becomes so high that the operating temperatures of one or more of the reactors would be exceeded. The gases flowing through the bypass channel are cooled prior to their reintroduction into the main exhaust pipe channel. The diversion of part of the gas stream into the bypass channel is accomplished with the aid of a control current of exhaust gas tapped off from the exhaust line and conducted back upstream to the junction of the main channel and the bypass channel. The force of this control current deviates the exhaust gases from their normal path and causes them to flow into the bypass channel.
