Abstract: The difference in operational management service among a plurality of storage apparatuses is detected by an apparatus that provides at least one operational management service to the storage apparatuses of a plurality of user sites via a communication network. The apparatus classifies the storage apparatuses of the plurality of user sites on the basis of use statuses, and generate at least one group including the plurality of storage apparatuses; and a service difference extraction unit configured to detect, out of the plurality of storage apparatuses that constitute the group, a first storage device that is inferior in terms of a predetermined index and a second storage device that is superior to the first storage device in terms of the predetermined index, and extract a difference between a first operational management service applied to the first storage apparatus and a second operational management service applied to the second storage apparatus.

Abstract: In a scale-out type storage in which multiple physical storage systems are provided collectively as a single virtual storage system, a logical path is established between the host computer and the virtual storage system so that input/output performance of the storage is not deteriorated, wherein during allocation of a volume to the virtual storage system, if a logical CU establishing a logical path to a volume is unallocated, a logical CU and a volume is generated to a storage system having either a small number of allocated logical CUs or a small amount of used storage capacity. On the other hand, if there is a storage system having a logical CU already allocated thereto, a volume is generated in that storage system.

Abstract: An encryption key used with a storing apparatus and an encryption key used with a non-volatile cache memory are identical to each other. A cache control portion unit effects control in such a way that an encryption key EK used to encrypt first data stored in the storing apparatuses, and an encryption key EK used to encrypt second data which are data corresponding to the first data and are stored in the non-volatile cache memory, are identical to each other. If the cache control portion receives a write request and first data WD, the cache control portion identifies from the storing apparatuses a storing apparatus that is to be the storage destination of the first data, identifies an encryption key allocated to the identified storing apparatus, encrypts the second data corresponding to the first data using the identified encryption key, and stores the data in the non-volatile cache memory.

Abstract: The storage system is capable of creating one or more virtual storage subsystems to which virtual resources having logically divided a processing capacity of the physical resources are allocated, and upon creating a virtual volume for receiving I/O requests from the host within the virtual storage subsystem, the virtual storage subsystem allocates the virtual resource to the virtual volume, and when an I/O request to the virtual volume is received from the host, performs processing related to the I/O request using the virtual resource having been allocated. Abstract: Provided is a control method for a plurality of storage apparatuses that perform a migration from a pre-migration volume group to a post-migration volume group. The plurality of storage apparatuses are configured to accept a write command directed to any one of a plurality of volumes in the pre-migration volume group and the post-migration volume group when the migration is being processed. Abstract: The present invention ensures improving responsiveness in a P2P type distributed database system that includes a plurality of node computers capable of storing management target data in storage devices. The storage devices include a first type storage device having a high input/output performance and a second type storage device having a low input/output performance. There is provided the storage devices that store KeySpace management tables including response count information indicative of a count of the node computers from which the identical management target data are to be read. The node computers by a count indicated by the response count information and capable of storing the management target data in the first type storage devices among the plurality of node computers are determined as storage destinations when a CPU receives a write request of new management target data.
