Abstract:
An HVAC system may include a building controller and one or more sensors. The building controller may be configured to receive one or more temperature readings from the one or more sensors located in a building and determine an extremum temperature reading. The building controller may be configured to control one or more components of an HVAC system of a building to control the extremum temperature in accordance with a programmed temperature set point.
Abstract:
An HVAC controller is described that is configured to be more intuitive and user friendly to program and operate than convention HVAC controllers. In some instances, the HVAC controller may include a touch screen interface that provides greater flexibility in displaying information to the user and/or soliciting information from the user.
Abstract:
A thermostat may transmit a configuration parameter package in a computer readable form over a network to a remote device. The configuration parameter data package may include a listing of available configuration parameters for the wireless thermostat, as well as information regarding available parameter values for each of the configuration parameter. The thermostat may subsequently receive selection of one or more available parameter values from the remote device, and in some cases, may in response transmit a second configuration parameter package that is dependent, at least in part, on the received selected parameter value(s).
Abstract:
A wall mountable connector to provide mechanical and electrical connections for a thermostat. The wall mountable connector may include a field wire receiving cavity, with a first column of wiring terminals and a second column of wiring terminals, with each of the wiring terminals configured to receive a field wire. Each of a first column of pin terminals may be electrically coupled with each of the first column of wiring terminals and each of a second column of pin terminals may be electrically coupled with each of the second column of wiring terminals. In some cases, the first column of pin terminals may be spaced a distance of 3 to 20 millimeters from a first side edge of the housing, and the second column of pin terminals may be spaced a distance of 3 to 20 millimeters from an opposing second side edge of the housing.

Abstract:
An HVAC controller may be programmed using a mobile device having a touch screen display, a wireless port and a controller that is in operative communication with the touch screen display and the wireless port. The controller may establish communication with and download an application program code from the remote download server. The controller may establish a direct wireless connection between the wireless port of the mobile device and the wireless interface of the HVAC controller and execute the application program code, which provides one or more configuration screens on the touch screen display of the mobile device to enable the user to configure the HVAC controller via one or more configuration parameters, and then upload the one or more configuration parameters to the HVAC controller via the direct wireless connection between the wireless port of the mobile device and the wireless interface of the HVAC controller.
