摘要： Embodiments of this application provide a broadcast communication method and apparatus. An identifier of a first broadcast service is sent to a radio access network device, so that the radio access network device can identify the same first broadcast service in different networks. The radio access network device may send data of the broadcast service in a first network by using a resource that has been allocated to the first broadcast service in a second network. In other words, in this application, the radio access network device may share an air interface resource for a same broadcast service in different networks, so as to save transmission resources of the radio access network device and avoid a waste of air interface resources.

The method includes: receiving system information from a first cell, where the system information includes first information; and performing cell selection or cell reselection based on the first information. In the embodiments, assistance information, such as a receiving capability of a network device or a sending capability of the terminal device, may be added to the system information. The assistance information includes the first information, so that when performing the cell selection or the cell reselection, the terminal device considers more determining conditions, to prevent some terminal devices with a low sending capability from camping on an NTN that cannot work.
