摘要: An approach is provided for optimizing an exchange of service updates. A service update manager determines factors related to a level of activity, context, status, or combination thereof between a first device and a second device with respect to an information sharing service. The service update manager then computes a pair update rate for sharing information between the first device and second device via the information sharing service based on the determined factors, and transmits the pair update rate to the first device and the second device. If the first device and second device are members of a group created in the information sharing service, the service update manager computes respective pair update rates for each pair of members within the group, and computes a group update rate based on the respective pair updates. If one or more members of the group are members of one or more other groups, the service update manager computes respective group update rates for the group and each of the one or more other groups, and computes an aggregate group update rate based on the respective group update rates.

摘要: The invention relates to a method, which comprises the capturing of image data representing a physical object using an electronic device. First visual objects are determined in the image data. Second objects are determined among the first visual objects. Position information is determined for the second visual objects within the physical object. Third visual object are obtained based on the position information from object data storage. The third visual objects are matched to the first visual objects and differences between third visual objects and the first visual object are indicated to a user.

摘要: Systems and methods applicable, for instance, in operation control functionality. For example, a node and/or other computer might maintain one or more node information arrays, might provide some or all of one or more node information arrays to other nodes and/or other computers, and/or might receive some or all of one or more node information arrays from other nodes and/or other computers. Node information arrays might, for example, be employed in a number of ways. For instance, a node and/or other computer might employ some or all of maintained node information arrays and/or some or all of received node information arrays in making one or more determinations regarding its operation. One or more search operations might, for example, be performed.

摘要: A wireless communications device controls its operational characteristics by receiving operational information across a short-range wireless network, and setting an operational characteristic of the device based on the received operational information. The received operational information corresponds to one or more remote devices within communications range of the device. The wireless communications device may alternatively control its operational characteristics by identifying one or more remote devices within its communications range, and setting an operational characteristic of the WCD based on the one or more identified remote devices.

摘要: This invention relates to routing in a communication network. The invention offers a method to make a protected routing through all the layers of a communication network. The bottom layer is the foundation for all protected routes. The routing order is from bottom to top. First, the first layer above the bottom layer is routed into the bottom layer. The links which do not need protection can be routed via the shortest path. The links which need protection are routed in a way that there exist two, as short as possible, separate paths. The other links are routed in a similar way. Finally the top layer is routed into the layer below the top layer.

摘要: A selection of a contact is received from a user. This contact is within a content item, such as a word processing document, a hypertext document, an e-mail, a spreadsheet, or an electronic presentation. The user receives an indication of one or more connection channels associated with the contact and the user makes a selection a designated connection channel from the one or more connection channels. Upon this selection a device (such as a portable communications device) is instructed to establish communications across the designated connection channel. This connection channel may be, for example, a telephone number, an SMS number, an e-mail address, or a uniform resource locator (URL).

摘要: Efficient and effective communications are initiated from the selection, at a first user device, of a link in a resource. Based on this selection, a communications request is transmitted to a server. In addition, identification information of a second user device (such as a telephone number or an Internet Protocol (IP) address) is transmitted to the server. As a result of this request and identification information, a communication response is received at the second user device. This communications response may be of various types, such as a voice call, a message, or a rich call.

摘要: A wireless proximity network is extended to provide peer-to peer communication among ad hoc networks. A mobile device (peer) coupled to an access point serves an adhoc network via a short-range communication link. The peer executes a Bluetooth protocol stack. Each peer has a routing table about all the peers in the adhoc network. A peer to peer software layer (P2P) runs on top of the Bluetooth protocol stack and beneath a multi-user application layer. The P2P software handles application deployment, peer management and communications for applications and provides information about existing peers on the adhoc network; routes messages between peers within an ad hoc network and from one peer to another in different adhoc networks. The access point is connected to a wireless LAN via a wireless router. The access point has an IP-BT address conversion table and communicates with other access points via wireless routers using TCP/IP protocols.
