摘要： Pharmaceutically useful compounds having ACAT inhibitory activity of the formula ##STR1## wherein n is 0, 1, or 2, for X other than tetrazole and n=2 then R.sub.2 =R.sub.3 =H; R.sub.1 is phenyl, substituted phenyl, naphthyl, substituted naphthyl, a heteroaromatic group or a hydrocarbon group having from one to 18 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are hydrogen, halo, hydroxy, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, substituted phenyl, a heteroaryl, or form a spiroalkyl group; X is a heteromonocyclic 5-membered ring containing one to four heteroatoms, said heteroatoms being nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur, and combination thereof; and R.sub.4 is a hydrocarbon group having from one to 20 carbon atoms are described as well as methods of their manufacture.

摘要： Stability of a control system for a materials testing system using specified filter parameters is confirmed by inputting to the control system a test signal having a predetermined waveform, automatically monitoring the output of the materials testing system, and automatically comparing the output to a threshold. If the output exceeds the threshold, a first action is taken. If the output does not exceed the threshold, input of a command signal to the control system is permitted.

摘要： A micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) disc drive includes high-precision and integrated components to allow for increased functionality, robustness and reduced size as compared to currently produced disc drives. Integrating multiple subcomponents of the disc drive using batch processing provides low manufacturing costs. Furthermore, using MEMS techniques, new features can be added to disc drives. For example, an environmental control component, an accelerometer and/or a thermometer may be integrated into the housing of the disc drive.

摘要： A reel apparatus for reeling a traveling web produced on a papermaking machine comprises a rotatable support drum which is fixedly mounted in a frame. A pair of parallel, horizontally disposed rails are mounted to the frame with the tops of the rails above the apex of the support drum. New reel spools are brought into supporting engagement on the rails at a location downstream of the apex of the support drum and intermediate the apex of the support drum and a jumbo-sized wound web roll which is being wound while being powered by a centerwind assist drive, as well as nipping engagement with the support drum. Each reel spool is supported in a pair of carriages which are mounted to travel over the rails. Hydraulic cylinders selectively move each pair of carriages reciprocally along the rails between a new-reel- spool-receiving, or ready, position, a reeling position where the reel spool/newly-started- wound-web roll is nipped against the support drum, a downstream position where the wound paper web roll is disengaged from its nip with the support drum, and an ejection position where the wound web roll is moved against stops at the far end of the rails away from the support drum.

摘要： An electrical assembly in which electrical connection is made to a device having two laminar electrodes and a laminar element between the electrodes, preferably a circuit protection device in which a PTC conductive polymer element is sandwiched between two metal foil electrodes. Connection is made to at least one of the electrodes by a resiliently deformed clip having an active arm which contacts one of the electrodes, and a passive arm which is not in conductive contact with the other electrode. Preferably there is an auxiliary member between the active and passive arms of the clip. The auxiliary member can be an insulator, or a conductive member which is spaced apart from the other electrode but secured to the same face of the PTC element as the other electrode.
