    摘要: A powder charging apparatus, in which a plasma electrode pair is disposed within an insulative tubular passage for transporting powder as carried by gas, a device for intermittently applying a D.C. voltage between that pair of plasma electrode is provided to form a space where mainly desired polarity ions drawn from the plasma electrode pair exist and another space where mainly opposite polarity ions exist, well dispersed powder is fed to the former space where mainly the desired polarity ions exist, and thereby stable and strong charging performances can be assured for a long term without adhesion and accumulation of the powder to and on either one of the pair of plasma electrodes; and an electrostatic powder painting apparatus containing this powder charging apparatus therein and having excellent penetrating performance and painting efficiency.

    摘要: In an automatic powder feeding apparatus of the type that the apparatus comprises a sensor nozzle for blowing a carrier fluid into an inlet of a detector tubular passageway having an inlet and an outlet, apparatus for detecting a pressure difference between an inlet side pressure detecting port provided upstream of the outlet of the sensor nozzle and an outlet side pressure detecting port provided at the outlet of the detector tubular passageway, apparatus for shunting a part of the carrier fluid to the inlet side pressure detecting port and regulating a pressure at the outlet of the detector tubular passageway, the apparatus for regulating a pressure at the outlet of the detector tubular passageway being an injector connected via a valve to the outlet, and an automatic control valve having the pressure difference applied as its input and a flow rate of a driving fluid of the injector issued as its control output and including apparatus for presetting a set value corresponding to the pressure difference, in order to obviate a transient increasing phenomenon of a powder flow rate occurring upon starting for recommencing an operation from an operation stop condition and to obtain a stable powder flow rate from the moment of starting, the automatic control valve and the outlet side pressure detecting port are connected with each other via a three-way valve.

    摘要: A thermal fixing roller for use in a copying machine and a method for manufacturing the thermal fixing roller are disclosed. An insulator layer is formed on an outer surface of a cylindrical metallic pipe, a masking wire material is wound in a spiral manner on the surface of the insulator layer and a heat-generating resistor is formed by spray coating heat-generating resistor material on the insulator and wire surfaces. Thereafter the wire material is removed to leave a groove at its trace, and thereby the above-mentioned heat-generating resistor can be formed in a spiral shape. By choosing pitches at the opposite end portions of this spiral resistor smaller than that at the central portion thereof, uniform temperature is maintained over the entire length of the thermal fixing roller. Also by forming a cross-section configuration of the masking wire material in a rectangular shape, it is allowed to reduce the width of the above-mentioned groove to minimum.

    摘要: A workpiece which may be made of a highly electrically insulating material is held in a spaced opposing relationship with respect to a silent discharge plate electrode to which an a.c. voltage is applied. A d.c. voltage is applied across the workpiece and the silent discharge plate electrode to form a driving electric field therebetween. Powder particles suspended in air are charged in the same polarity as that of the silent discharge plate electrode and then injected into the region between the silent discharge plate electrode and the workpiece where the electric field drives the charged particles toward the workpiece to coat it. The a.c. voltage is sufficient to repel the electrode surface confronting the workpiece and to maintain the silent discharge at a reduced level and effectively precluding deposit of powder particles on the mentioned surface. An apparatus for the electrostatic coating is also disclosed.

    摘要: An improved powder material processing apparatus is described herein, in which a plurality of wire-shaped electrodes are disposed within an imaginary plane at an equal interval and in parallel to each other. An insulator layer is interposed between the adjacent wire-shaped electrodes to prevent spark discharge from being generated by an A.C. high voltage applied between the adjacent wire-shaped electrodes. A silent discharge region is established between said adjacent wire-shaped electrodes, and positive and negative charges are separately given to the particles forming said powder material by making uncharged powder material pass through said silent discharge region, resulting in formation of powder material consisting of substantially equal numbers of positively charged particles and negatively charged particles, whereby control characteristics of the processed powder material can be greatly improved and the above-mentioned charging process can be effected continuously at a high efficiency.
