    摘要: An electronic device includes: a communication unit to connect to a different device on a network, the different device storing contents; an output unit to connect to a display apparatus; a control unit; an operation input unit; and a reproduction unit. The control unit searches for contents stored in the different device on the network, generates a list of thumbnail images indicating the searched contents, estimates an error rate when each of the contents is received and reproduced, and outputs the list to the display apparatus, the control unit changing a state of each of the thumbnail images in the list according to the estimated error rate. The operation input unit receives reproduction instruction operation with respect to the content indicated by each of the thumbnail images. The reproduction unit receives the content, which is subjected to the reproduction instruction operation, from the different device, and reproduce the content.

    摘要: An electronic device includes: a communication unit to connect to a different device on a network, the different device storing contents; an output unit to connect to a display apparatus; a control unit; an operation input unit; and a reproduction unit.     摘要: An information source management system 11 performs inventory management for CDs and a material information management progress programming system 12 performs programming. An material information registration system 13 compresses the musical numbers of the CDs for holding on a proprietary server and a proprietary server 121 of a multi-channel sending-out system 101. A large number of materials are held on the proprietary server 121 and read out from it. The read-out materials are converted in its format to a transmission format by a sending-out server 123 so as to be multiplexed by a multiplexer 141. The multiplexed data is QPSK-modulated by a modulator 142 and sent out via a selector 143. From the proprietary server 121 are read out data which is sent out via dedicated network 3 to a live PC where it is reproduced. This data is furnished again via dedicated network 3 and encoded by an MPEG encoder 129 so as to be sent out at the sending-out server 123.

The command unit outputs a command at intervals controlled in accordance with the quantity of coded data generated when the image signal is coded. Alternatively, the image coder includes an input unit for inputting an image signal, a detection unit for detecting the activity of the image signal input by the input unit, a coding unit for coding the image signal by adaptively switching a first coding mode for performing intraframe coding and a second coding mode for performing interframe coding, and a command unit for outputting a command to the coding unit to forcibly execute the first coding mode. The command unit outputs a command at intervals controlled in accordance with an output from the detection unit.

    摘要: There is provided an image transmitting method whereby a variable-length coding is executed to image information and the variable-length coded image information to be compressed is transmitted together with information other than the image information on a data block unit basis of a predetermined data amount, wherein the number of data blocks which mainly include the information other than the image information and don't include the image information to be compressed is made variable for the number of data blocks which mainly include the image information to be compressed. There is also provided an image transmitting method whereby each picture plane is divided into a plurality of regions, a variable-length coding is executed to image information on a region unit basis, and the variable-length coded image information to be compressed is transmitted together with information other than the image information on a data block unit basis of a predetermined data amount, wherein boundary information indicative of the position in the data block of the boundary between the image information to be compressed of each of the divided regions is arranged in a predetermined portion of each of the data blocks, the resultant data blocks are transmitted, specific data which can be distinguished from the boundary information is included in the predetermined portion of each of the data blocks, the information other than the image information is given in place of the image information to the data blocks including the specific data, and the resultant data blocks are transmitted.
