摘要: In embodiments, a base station may be able to identify whether a user equipment (UE) is to operate within the cellular network in accordance with a wideband (WB) protocol or a narrowband (NB) protocol. Based on this identification, the base station may further be able to identify a number of resource blocks (RBs) that include subcarriers occupied by enhanced narrowband control channel elements (eNCCEs). Finally, the base station may be able to transmit the eNCCEs on the subcarriers. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

摘要: A network device (e.g., an evolved Node B (eNB), user equipment (UE) or the like) can operate to enable scheduling UL transmissions on transmission opportunities outside of the UL grants or for multi-carrier UL scheduling. A communication component of the device can operate to process or generate communications on an unlicensed band or a licensed band in response to UL grants and indications provided via a DL transmission for scheduling. An eNB can provide indications to a UE for processing that indicate whether a transmission opportunity is on the same transmission opportunity as the UL grants or an external/outside transmission opportunity. The indications can further trigger an listen-before-talk (LBT) protocol, which can vary between a category 4 LBT or a single LBT interval that is shorter than the category 4 LBT, depending on the indication.

摘要: Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for directional communication are generally described herein. The eNB may transmit, signal and an uplink scheduling block to a first UE according to a downlink transmission direction from the eNB to the first UE. The eNB 104 may further transmit, during the downlink sub-frame, a second beam refinement training signal and a downlink scheduling block to a second UE according to a downlink transmission direction from the eNB to the second UE. The uplink scheduling block may indicate scheduled uplink resources for a scheduled uplink transmission by the first UE and the downlink scheduling block may indicate scheduled downlink resources for a scheduled downlink transmission to the second UE.

摘要: Embodiments of user equipment (UE), an enhanced node B (eNB), and methods of signaling for proximity services and device-to-device (D2D) discovery in an LTE network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the UE receives configuration information for a D2D discovery resource pool of a cell. The configuration information includes an indication that the D2D discovery resource pool has been logically divided into a plurality of sub-discovery resource pools. The UE performs an initial transmission of a discovery signal in a discovery period using a single D2D discovery resource from a first sub-discovery resource pool of the plurality of sub-discovery resource pools. The UE performs a number of additional transmissions of the discovery signal in the discovery period using additional D2D discovery resources from sub-discovery resource pools of the plurality of sub-discovery resource pools other than the first sub-discovery resource pool. Other apparatuses and methods are also described.

The first circuitry may be operable to associate a first Beam Reference Signal (BRS) for a first Transmit (Tx) beam having a first beamwidth with one or more second BRSes for one or more respectively corresponding second Tx beams having a second beamwidth. The second circuitry may be operable to generate a first BRS transmission carrying the first BRS, and to generate one or more second BRS transmissions carrying the one or more respectively corresponding second BRSes. The third circuitry may be operable to provide information regarding the first BRS and the second BRSes to the second circuitry.
