Abstract: A system and method for providing image guidance for placement of one or more medical devices at a target location. The system can be used to determine one or more affected regions corresponding to the operation of one or more medical devices and display at least a portion of the one or more affected regions. The affected regions can correspond to predicted affected regions and/or dynamic affected regions and can be based at least in part on a variance parameter of the medical device.

Abstract: A system and method for improved medical device navigation is disclosed. An example system can include a processor configured to determine an emplacement of a 2D medical image in a 3D virtual space, determine an emplacement of a virtual medical device in the 3D space, determine an intersection based on the emplacement of the 2D medical image and the emplacement of the virtual medical device, and/or determine a dynamic point-of-projection location for the virtual medical device based at least in part on the determined intersection. The processor can cause a display to display a rendering of the 2D medical image and a projection of the virtual medical device onto the 2D medical image from a perspective of the dynamic point-of-projection location. The display can be communicatively coupled to an imaging medical device. The viewing area can be parallel to a 2D region associated with the 2D medical image.

Abstract: A system and method for providing image guidance for planning approach paths for one or more medical devices at a target location. The system can receive a volumetric medical image, determine a density of content within the volumetric medical image, receive an indication of a target location within the volumetric medical image, identify obstructing objects within the volumetric medical image, and determine a plurality of pathways from an approach region of the volumetric medical image to the target location. The system can cause a display to concurrently display the volumetric medical image and a plurality of emplacements for one or more medical imaging devices.
