Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a method for projecting a 3-D viewable image onto a display surface, comprising the steps of, providing two or more projection systems; arranging the two or more projection systems into a first group and second group, wherein the first group and second group each comprise one or more projection systems; arranging the first and second group of projection systems such that each group of project systems can project an image on a display surface, wherein the first group of projection systems is arranged such that the first group of projection systems can project an image to a first position on the display surface and the second group of projection systems is arranged such that the second group of projection systems can project an image to a second position on the display surface, wherein the first and second positions are off-set from one another; configuring the first and second group of projection systems such that the first and second group of projection systems alternately project onto the display surface. There is further provided a corresponding projection system.

Abstract: An illumination system includes a light source arranged for emitting non-collimated light towards a reflective surface of a scanning mirror assembly such that the light source occludes a region of the light reflected from the reflective surface. The scanning mirror assembly includes the reflective surface, which is arranged to be rotationally displaced around at least one rotation axis. The illumination system also includes an optical element for changing the propagation direction of the said reflected light so as to illuminate at least a part of the said occluded region.

Abstract: Holographic optical elements for augmented reality (AR) devices and methods of manufacturing and using the same are disclosed. A disclosed system includes a holographic optical element (HOE), and a first light source to direct a first beam of light toward the HOE from a first direction. The first beam of light is collimated. The disclosed system further includes a second light source to direct a second beam of light toward the HOE from a second direction. The disclosed system also includes a decollimation lens positioned between the first light source and the HOE. The decollimation lens is to decollimate the first beam of light.

Abstract: Holographic optical elements for augmented reality (AR) devices and methods of manufacturing and using the same are disclosed. An example AR device includes a holographic optical element (HOE) including a recorded optical function, and a projector to emit light toward the HOE. The HOE reflects the light based on the optical function to produce a full image corresponding to content perceivable by a user viewing the reflected light from within an eyebox. A first portion of the content is viewable from a first location within the eyebox. A second portion of the content is viewable from a second location within the eyebox. The first portion including different content than the second portion that is non-repeating between the first and second portions.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a projection device and manufacturing method, comprising the steps of fixing the positions of a red light source, green light source and blue light source so that the light sources are immovable; providing a mirror which is configured to oscillate such that it can scan light it receives across a display screen; positioning an optical component, which is configured to deflect light, such that it can receive red, green and blue light beams outputted from the red, green and blue light sources respectively; adjusting the optical component such that the optical component compensates for variation between the light sources, in the direction in which the red, green and blue light beams are output from the red, green and blue light sources, so that each of the red, green and blue light beams are directed to the same point on the display screen.
