Both the engine and the drive unit are moved with respect to the hull to change the angle of the propeller with respect to the hull. A hydraulic resistance system is provided to provide resistance to a turbine engine when in an idle condition. An auxiliary power transfer is provided to power an auxiliary genset and power unit. A main electrical power unit having an auxiliary engine is also connected to the power transfer unit. The auxiliary engine may be used to drive the vessel at low speeds and maneuvering conditions. One of the main engines may be used to drive both of the shafts through the power transfer unit.

The power surge protection assembly includes a bus bar connected to a power supply, typically ground. The power surge protection assembly additionally includes a suppression box having a top surface, a bottom surface, sides, and ends for encasing a power surge suppression circuit. A conductor extends outward from an end of the suppression box. A coupler is attached to the bus bar for receiving the conductor and mechanically coupling the suppression box to the bus bar and electrically coupling the suppression box to the power supply. A variety of conductors and couplers are disclosed including post, bar, and plug conductors and snap ring, clip, jack, and bore couplers. The power surge protection assembly is particularly adapted for stacking two or more surge suppression boxes.

A marine vessel control system that includes at least one primary marine propulsory mechanism providing a thrust vector and being movably attached to the vessel. An actuating system is coupled to the at least one primary marine propulsory mechanism manipulating the orientation of the thrust vector. At least one servo control is linked with the actuating system. At least one attitude sensor provides a signal that indicates the attitude of the vessel. A central control computer is operatively coupled to the actuating system, the servo control and the attitude sensor. The central control computer controls the actuation of the at least one primary marine propulsory mechanism's thrust vector in response to the signal from the attitude sensor indicating the attitude of the vessel. The attitude, stability and motion damping and at least one of the pitch, roll and yaw axes of the vessel is controlled.
