摘要: A punch press machine for punching a series of holes in a cylindrical work piece has a main frame, a clamping fixture for holding the work piece, and a punch press frame having a horizontal moving punch and a die for receiving the punch. The clamping fixture is moveable relative to the main frame along a first horizontal axis and the punch press frame is moveable relative to the main frame along a second vertical axis for lowering the punch and die into a punching position with the punch on one side of the work piece and the die on the other side of the work piece.

摘要: When a zeolite additive composition of a medium-pore zeolite with a Constraint Index from about 1 to about 12 and a silica to alumina mole ratio greater than about 12 is added to a conventional cracking catalyst dispersed in an inorganic matrix, the octane will be improved, but there will be a yield loss in the amount of gasoline produced. An improvement in that catalyst system is obtained by partially exchanging the medium-pore zeolite additive with cations from one or more elements of Group IA, Group IIA or Group IIIA of the Periodic Table. The octane number of the gasoline-range product of an FCC process is still improved while the amount of the gasoline yield loss typically observed for such octane-enhancing additives is reduced.

摘要: The promoter(s) Mn oxide or Mn oxide and Zr oxide are added to a cobalt Fischer-Tropsch catalyst combined with the molecular sieve TC-103 or TC-123 such that the resultant catalyst demonstrates improved product selectivity, stability and catalyst life. The improved selectivity is evidenced by lower methane production, higher C5+ yield and increased olefin production.

摘要: This invention relates to an apparatus for stabilizing a work piece of ring configuration on a base. The apparatus has a first ring fixed to the base and frictionally positioned within the work piece. A second ring has a portion within the other end of the work piece and a portion covering the other end of the work piece. A plurality of hold downs are connected to a base via hydraulic cylinders and are positioned about the work piece and have arms with rollers attached thereto. In response to actuation of the cylinders, the rollers are automatically swung into position over the second ring and the rollers forcibly urge the second ring and work piece in a direction toward the base.

摘要: An underwater communications system comprising first and second communications modules which transmit and receive data utilizing infrared radiation. Each module has a transmitter/receiver which converts each received data byte to RS-232 formatted data for transmission to a computer. Each communication module also includes a timer for providing a forty kilohertz pulsed signal to modulation circuitry which passes the pulsed signal through the modulation circuitry when a logic zero is supplied to the modulation circuitry and which inhibits the pulsed signal when a logic one is supplied to the circuitry. That portion of the pulsed signal which passes through the modulation circuitry is provided to a light emitting diode which transmits a pulsed burst of infrared radiation to an infrared light detecting unit within the second communications module. The infrared light detecting unit then provides a logic zero at its output when its receives a pulsed burst of infrared radiation for time period of approximately six hundred microseconds and a logic one when the unit fails to detect a pulsed burst of infrared radiation for a time period of six hundred microseconds.

摘要: In the process for hydrocracking hydrocarbons boiling above about 700.degree. F. to midbarrel fuel products boiling between about 300.degree. F. and about 700.degree. F. which includes contacting the hydrocarbons with hydrogen under effective hydrocracking conditions in the presence of a catalyst composition comprising at least one hydrogenation component and at least one cracking component, the improvement which comprises utilizing as the cracking component an expanded clay including pillars comprising (a) at least one pillaring metal, (b) at least one rare earth element and (c) oxygen located between the sheets of at least one clay mineral or synthetic analogue thereof.
