There are provided a nitride semiconductor light emitting device and a method of manufacturing the same, the device including: a first conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer formed on a substrate; an active layer formed on the first conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer; a second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer formed on the active layer; a light-transmitting low refractive index layer formed on the second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer, the light-transmitting low refractive index layer having a plurality of openings through which the second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer is partially exposed and formed of a material having a refractive index lower than a refractive index of the second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer; and a high conductivity ohmic contact layer formed on the light-transmitting low refractive index layer and connected to the second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer through the openings of the light-transmitting low refractive index layer.

A side-view type light emitting device includes a package body, a lead frame, and a light emitting diode (LED). The package body has a first surface provided as a mount surface, a second surface disposed on a side opposite to the first surface, and lateral surfaces disposed between the first surface and the second surface. The package body includes a recessed portion disposed on a lateral surface corresponding to a light emitting surface of the lateral surfaces. The lead frame is disposed in the package body. The LED chip is mounted on a bottom surface of the recessed portion. Protrusion parts protruding toward the LED chip are disposed in regions adjacent to the LED chip of facing inner sidewalls of the recessed portion, respectively.

A virtual local area network (LAN) control system for controlling at least one virtual LAN through a network accessed by a plurality of terminals includes a terminal, a virtual LAN switch, and a virtual LAN controller. The terminal has a proper identifier address to access the network, or receives a proper identifier address through an external device connected to the virtual LAN switch. The virtual LAN switch sets and provides at least one virtual LAN through the network. When the terminal accesses the virtual LAN controller to request to change the configuration of the virtual LAN, the virtual LAN controller assigns authority to change the virtual LAN to the terminal so as to change from the virtual LAN to which the terminal belongs to another virtual LAN.

Provided is a traffic engineering database (TED) management method and system guaranteeing an accuracy of a TED. The TED management method includes reserving resource information in the TED based on a path transmitted from a path control function of a control plane or from a path control function of a management plane, and updating the TED based on a result of a path control process, the result indicating ‘success’ or ‘failure’ and being transmitted from the path control function of the control plane or from the path control function of the management plane.
Abstract:
A first communication device determines whether a communication device that is not included in a routing path exists through an exchange of routing information with a plurality of adjacent communication devices. In this case, if a communication device that is not included in a routing path exists, the first communication device notifies a corresponding communication device to operate in a power saving mode, operates to decrease power use that is related to the corresponding communication device, and the communication device, having received the notification operates in a power saving mode.

There is provided a IPTV digital broadcast system and method capable of reducing a channel change time, the system including: an IPTV providing server providing a broadcast stream including broadcast data for each channel; an EPG server, when a client terminal accesses, providing an EPG, multicast group information for each channel, and PID information for each channel to the client terminal; and a PID providing server acquiring the PID information for each channel itself and providing the PID information for each channel to the EPG server.

An interactive advertisement system and a method thereof are provided. The interactive advertisement system includes an advertiser server, a local advertisement server, and a service receiver. The advertiser server requests registration of advertisement information by setting advertisement ID including target service areas and provides services in response to an order of available services corresponding to the advertisement information. The local advertisement server stores and registers the advertisement information including the advertisement ID corresponding to the registration request of the advertiser server, multicasts the registered advertisement information with the advertisement ID through an IP network, and transmits information related to a service request to the advertiser server. The service receiver extracts advertisement information providing a corresponding service from the received advertisement information, outputs the extracted information through a user interface, requesting the local advertisement server to order the input service, and receives the corresponding service from the advertiser server.

An Internet protocol (IP)-based integrated customized broadcast service system and method are provided. The IP-based integrated customized broadcast service system includes: a subscriber schedule table providing server generating a subscriber schedule table matching with a time when a user desires to be provided with a broadcast program or IP-based content; and a broadcast server transmitting the broadcast program to the user who desires to be provided with the broadcast program or converting the IP-based content to a broadcast service format that can be watched by the user and transmitting the converted IP-based content to the user who desires to be provided with the IP-based content according to the subscriber schedule table. Accordingly, video on demand (VoD) content, user created content (UCC), and proteur created content (PCC) can be used for broadcasting, so that a variety of broadcast programs can be configured.
Abstract:
A personal-ordered multimedia data search service method and apparatuses thereof are provided. The apparatus includes: a server which extracts feature information and meta data of entire screen or partial region of each scene-image of multimedia to generate image index information, and then obtains and provides search result images and meta data having feature information similar to feature information of image query information by searching the image index information, when image query information is received; and a set-top box which plays multimedia, wherein when a user issues a request for searching an arbitrary for the playing multimedia, the set-top box extracts feature information of the entire or partial region of the image to generate the image query information and transmits the image query information requesting for searching the image by using the extracted feature information to the server, and after that, when the search result images and meta data are provided from the server, browses the search result images and meta data on a display apparatus. Accordingly, it is possible to maximize user's satisfaction in searching for multimedia data.
