    摘要: A method is provided for determining variance of actual engine torque from reported engine torque, including configuring a controller with an algorithm to calculate the ratios of current and maximum engine torque to reported torque upon the initiation of high-throttle 1-2 shift, high-throttle 2-3 shift, high-throttle torque converter lockup, and at maximum Engine Rating Torque Function for each high-throttle torque converter drive cycle. An apparatus is also provided for detecting engine torque variance in a vehicle having an engine, a throttle, and a torque converter, the apparatus comprising a controller with memory and an algorithm for calculating the maximum and current engine torque variance upon the occurrence a predetermined throttle condition, and storing the values in accessible memory, wherein the controller is configured to initiate the algorithm upon the occurrence of one of the throttle conditions, and wherein the throttle and torque converter each communicate speed signals to the controller.

    摘要: A dynamic model is stored in memory that defines torque transmitted by the lockup clutch as a function of a plurality of torque converter operating parameters. A lockup clutch command is asserted to control engagement the lockup clutch, and thereafter a number of the plurality of torque converter operating parameters are monitored. A profile is selected of one of the plurality of torque converter operating parameters, and the profile is configured to result in an intersection of rotational speeds of the pump and the turbine over time when inserted into the model along with the monitored values of the number of torque converter operating parameters. The model is continually solved over time using the selected profile and the monitored operating parameters to produce transmitted torque values, and the lockup clutch command is modified based on the transmitted torque values.

    摘要: In an automatic transmission, clutch-to-clutch closed throttle downshifting is controlled by filling the on-coming clutch at a maximum pressure command for a set period while commanding the off-going clutch pressure to a low value and exhausting the off-going clutch before the end of the fill period. At the end of the fill period the on-coming pressure is set to an initial value and then ramped up until turbine speed is pulled up due to off-going clutch slippage. Then a closed-loop profile control period starts wherein the slip of the on-coming clutch is measured and controlled to a slip profile. When synchronization of the on-coming clutch is detected, maximum pressure is commanded. Parameters for controlling the quality of a shift such as on-coming clutch initial pressure and on-coming clutch fill time are automatically adjustable during vehicle use to correct shift aberrations which degrade shift quality.
