    摘要: A simulation circuit has a simulation circuit path that simulates operation of the write current circuit path of a write current driver. A simulation transistor simulates operation of the driver transistor and a monitor circuit monitors current at the base of the simulation transistor to derive a compensation current based on variations in base current, including breakdown of the simulation transistor. The compensation current is combined with the driver current to derive the write driver current for the driver transistor of the write current driver. In another form, the simulation circuit path is a scaled-down electrical equivalency of the write current circuit path so that the simulation current is a scaled fraction of the write current and power requirements are reduced. In one form, current is added to the compensation current to accommodate unidirectional nature of current mirrors in the monitor circuit.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for cutting a surgical suture at a first and second different location along its length. The apparatus having a first and a second cutting die with channels for receiving at least a portion of the cross-section of the surgical suture at each location. Each of the first and second cutting dies respectively is provided with an opposing cutting die to further restraint the suture. A blade is also provided at each cutting location for cutting the suture at a point adjacent to the respective cutting dies when the suture is restrained between the sets of dies.

    摘要: There is disclosed a trim network suitable to be utilized in monolithic circuits and a method of trimming thereof to improve performance of the circuits to achieve greater yields. The network comprises at least one monolithic resistor connected across a known voltage potential and including a plurality of contacts thereon defining incremental resistances therebetween. The contacts are coupled to a common terminal via a plurality of metallic links. A desired output voltage is derived at the common terminal by open circuiting all of the links but a desired one. The voltage appearing at the common terminal can then be used for trimming a parameter of the monolithic circuit to improve the performance thereof.

The dies grip and confine the needle in the area of the suture receptacle. A pair of opposed swaging elements with offset stakes insert through passageways in the dies and impinge on the captured needle making a plurality of indentations in the needle barrel and gripping the suture in the suture receptacle. The indentations are offset and aligned generally in alternating peak-to-valley relationship, causing the suture receptacle and the contained suture to assume a serpentine configuration. The stakes and the resulting indentations can be dimensioned to result in a converging suture receptacle, which exhibits increasing shear force being exerted on the suture with increasing depth into the suture receptacle. The apparatus and method permit reliable suture-needle attachment over a larger range of tolerances, such that a single die setup can be used on a plurality of needle and suture materials. The resulting product exhibits a serpentine suture/needle attachment interface with reliable attachment and smooth outer dimensions.
