Abstract:
A method for inhibiting the formation of fouling materials during hydrocarbon processing is provided. Hydrocarbon media, which is undergoing treatment with a basic wash and contains carbonyl compounds is contacted with hydroxylamine and naphthalene sulfonate to inhibit the formation of fouling materials and to minimize the deposition of fouling compounds that may occur during hydrocarbon processing.
Abstract:
A method for inhibiting the formation of fouling materials including contacting hydrocarbon media containing carbonyl compounds with hydroxylamine and naphthalene sulfonate while treating the hydrocarbon media with a basic wash.
Abstract:
The corrosion of metals in contact with aqueous alkanolamine solutions in acid gas removal units is inhibited by adding to the alkanolamine solution a corrosion inhibiting amount of a polythiaether compound.
Abstract:
A method for controlling wheat powdery mildew is provided which encompasses applying to the plant, seed, seedling or portion of the plant to be protected, or, to its growing media, an effective amount of a compound of Formula II where Q is O, n is 0, R3 is halogen, R4 is halogen or hydrogen, R5 is an alkyl group having from three to five carbon atoms and R6 is an alkyl group having from three to eight carbon atoms. Also provided are certain compositions for controlling wheat powdery mildew which contain a compound of Formula II together with a surfactant, an organic solvent and/or a solid or liquid diluent. Also provided are certain fungicidal compounds within Formula II for controlling wheat powdery mildew.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an improved process for producing diesel boiling range fuel or fuel blending component from renewable feedstocks such as plant oils and greases. The improvement involved the addition of an organic polysulfide to the renewable feedstock before it enters the pre-reaction heating unit of the process resulting in reduced fouling in the pre-reaction heating unit. The invention also provides the use of such organic polysulfide in renewable feedstocks used in hydroprocessing equipment for reducing fouling in the pre-reaction heating units of such processes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to additives for enhancing the lubricity of hydrocarbon fuel oils, the inventive additive composition including one or more of the reaction products of (i) an alkylated polyamine and (ii) urea or isocyanate, or the salt adducts of these reaction products. More particularly, the present invention provides for a process for improving the lubricity of hydrocarbon fuel oils, which are low in inherent lubricity due to treatment to reduce sulfur and aromatic components for improved emissions.
Abstract:
This invention pertains to compounds of Formulae I, II and III, as defined in the disclosure and claims, including all geometric and stereoisomers, N-oxides, agriculturally suitable salts thereof, agricultural compositions containing them and their use as fungicides.
Abstract:
Aviation fuel, such as jet fuel, blends and methods for improving cold flow properties of such fuels at extremely low temperatures are disclosed. Cold flow properties of, for example, JP-8+100 jet fuel, are improved by addition to the fuel of a polymer formed from polymerization of an α-olefin monomer or monomers. Demonstratable cold flow improvement of such fuels at temperatures of about −53° C. and lower is shown.

Aviation fuel, such as jet fuel, blends and methods for improving cold flow properties of such fuels at extremely low temperatures are disclosed. Cold flow properties of, for example, JP-8 jet fuel are improved by addition to the fuel of an oil-soluble, polar nitrogen-containing compound. Demonstratable cold flow improvement of such fuels at temperatures of about −53° C. and lower is shown.
