    摘要: A method for operating a closed loop air/fuel ratio control system of an internal combustion engine determining the quantity of fuel to be supplied to the engine in accordance with an output signal of an exhaust gas oxygen sensor placed in an exhaust system of the engine, comprising steps for initiating a supply of an electric current to the exhaust gas oxygen sensor immediately after an ignition switch is turned on and for discriminating the activation state of the oxygen sensor by comparing the level of a combined output voltage of the oxygen sensor with a predetermined reference voltage level, at a time when a predetermined time period has passed after the supply of the electric current to the oxygen sensor, whereby eliminating a mistake of judgment which might occur due to the delay characteristics of a controller unit which determines the operational sequence of closed loop air/fuel ratio control system.

    摘要: A fuel supply control method for electronically controlling the quantity of fuel being supplied to an internal combustion engine in synchronism with generation of pulses of a predetermined control signal, in response to a fuel increment gradually decreasing in value after termination of cranking of the engine. Immediately when the engine leaves a cranking state, an initial value of the fuel increment is set, which corresponds to a product obtained by multiplying the value of a fuel increasing coefficient decreasing in value as the engine temperature increases by the value of a coefficient being a function of the engine temperature. Subsequently, the thus set initial value of the fuel increment is decreased upon generation of each pulse of the above predetermined control signal until the thus decreased incremental value becomes equal to a value at which no substantial increase takes place in the fuel quantity being supplied to the engine.

    摘要: A cluster controlling system transfers packages which have been operating on one computer to another computer when a fault or failure has occurred by monitoring and controlling the packages in the entire system. When the respective packages are started-up, cluster daemons on the respective computers monitor and control resources on the operating computers. The monitored and controlled data are stored in the respective computers as local data. A manager communicates with cluster daemons on the respective computers, and stores data in a global data memory to monitor and control the entire system. The manager is actually one of the packages operating in the cluster system. If a fault or failure occurs in the manager or in the computer running the manager, the manager is re-started on another computer by a cluster daemon.

    摘要: An idling speed control method which is adapted to detect by detecting means predetermined rotational angle positions of an internal combustion engine having supplementary air supply control means that regulates the quantity of supplementary air being supplied to the engine, and to control the ratio of operating duty of the supplementary air supply control means to an interval of time at which pulses of a signal indicative of the predetermined rotational angle positions are generated, in a feedback manner responsive to the difference between actual idling engine speed and desired idling speed. When an abnormality is detected in the detecting means, which includes a sensor for sensing the predetermined crank angle positions, a maximum quantity of supplementary air is supplied to the engine by operating the supplementary air quantity control means to its operating limit. The supplementary air supply control means may comprise either (1) a solenoid valve disposed in a supplementary air passage, one end of which communicates with an intake passage of the engine at a location downstream of a throttle valve arranged in the intake passage and the other end communicates with the atmosphere, or (2) a negative pressure-operated means disposed for operating the throttle valve to open or close in response to negative pressure in the intake passage at a zone downstream of the throttle valve, and a negative pressure control means for controlling the magnitude of negative pressure in the intake passage acting upon the negative pressure-operated means.
