    摘要: The present invention is based on the discovery that interspecies quorum sensing is related to biofilm formation. The present invention provides methods useful for treating or preventing biofilm formation and microbial infections associated with biofilm formation by using an agent that either increases LuxS-dependent pathway or interspecies quorum sensing signal. The present invention also provides compositions containing an anti-micorbial agent and an agent that either increases LuxS-dependent pathway or interspecies quorum sensing signal.

    摘要: The invention describes three monoclonal IgG antibodies, referred to as SWLA1, SWLA2, and SWLA3, which appear to recognize a species-specific lipooligosaccharide or lipopolysaccharide on the cell surface of S. mutans. The invention also describes a rapid method of detection of S. mutans without the need for prior growth of the bacteria in culture. The invention further describes a methods of utilizing these antibodies for rapidly quantitatively detecting S. mutans. These methods are sensitive enough to detect the presence of a single S. mutans bacterial cell. These methods can be widely used in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of dental caries in humans.

    摘要: A catalytic pyrolysis process for production of ethylene and propylene from heavy hydrocarbons, comprises that heavy hydrocarbons are contacted with a pillared interlayered clay molecular sieve and/or phosphorus and aluminum or magnesium or calcium modified high silica zeolite having a structure of pentasil contained catalysts in a riser or downflow transfer line reactor in the presence of steam and catalytically pyrolysed at a temperature of 650° C. to 750° C. and a pressure of 0.15 to 0.4 MPa for a contact time of 0.2 to 5 seconds, a weight ratio of catalyst to feedstock of 15:1 to 40:1 and a weight ratio of steam to feedstock of 0.3:1 to 1:1. The yields of ethylene and propylene by the present invention are over 18 wt %.
