Abstract: An optical member and a method for producing this optical member are provided. The optical member is composed of an injection molded article. The injection molded article includes a glutarimide resin that contains a glutarimide unit having an imidocarbonyl group provided by the imidization of a carbonyl group deriving from (meth)acrylate ester monomer, a repeat unit deriving from (meth)acrylate ester monomer, and a repeat unit deriving from aromatic vinyl monomer. The glutarimide resin has an orientation birefringence of −0.5×10−3 to 0.5×10−3, a photoelastic constant of −3.0×10−12 Pa−1 to 3.0×10−12 Pa−1, and a glass transition temperature of at least 125° C. The average value of the phase difference of the optical member is not more than 20 nm.

Abstract: The present invention provides a resin material and a film made of the resin material, the resin material being able to form a molded body having high transparency, excellent mechanical strength, few foreign matter defects, excellent heat stability, excellent solvent resistance, and extremely good appearance. The non-birefringent resin material contains a resin (A) and a polymer (B) and has an orientation birefringence of −1.7×10−4 to 1.7×10−4 and a photoelastic constant of −4×10−12 to 4×10−12 Pa−1.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a resin material capable of producing a molded body having few defects due to foreign substances, having high mechanical strength, very small in both orientation birefringence and photoelastic birefringence, and having high transparency, and having high transparency even when such a resin material is stretched. Provided is a resin composition containing a resin (A) and a multilayer structure polymer (B), wherein the multilayer structure polymer (B) has a crosslinked polymer layer and a hard polymer layer, and the hard polymer layer has at least two different hard polymer layers, at least one of which is a hard polymer layer (C) opposite in sign of a photoelastic constant to that of the resin (A).

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of producing a film, the method being capable of suppressing formation of die lines in melt extrusion molding using a T die. A thermoplastic resin composition having a relaxation modulus of not less than 100 Pa and not more than 2,000 Pa is melted and kneaded, the relaxation modulus being measured under conditions of a temperature of 260° C., distortion of 1%, and a relaxation time of 1 second, and extrusion molding of the thermoplastic resin composition using the T die is performed to form the film. The thermoplastic resin composition may contain an acrylic resin and a rubber particle.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an optical thermoplastic resin having excellent transparency and color tone, and also excellent heat stability, as well as being extremely low in both orientation birefringence and photoelastic birefringence; and a formed body made of said resin. This optical thermoplastic resin has a rate of reduction in melt viscosity of less than 20%, an orientation birefringence of −1.7×10−4 to 1.7×10−4, a photoelastic constant of −2×10−12 to 2×10−12 Pa−1, and, when formed into a 2 mm-thick formed body, has a haze of 1% or less.
