Abstract: An engine with an EGR device includes an engine case, and an EGR pipe that introduces an EGR gas into an intake path. The EGR pipe is arranged to pass through an inside of the engine case. A part of the EGR pipe in the engine case is arranged to face a cooling water path in the engine case. The engine case is defined by a cylinder head. The cooling water path is arranged to surround a whole circumference of the EGR pipe.

Abstract: A cylinder head cover that prevents the gas outlet for the blow-by gas from being cooled by structural improvements so that the gas outlet does not freeze or become clogged in a cold condition. A cylinder head cover includes: a gas passage through which blow-by gas from a crankcase passes; and a gas outlet portion protruding upward from a head cover upper wall. The gas outlet portion includes a protruding case portion bulging upward from the head cover upper wall so as to form an outlet passage through which blow-by gas passes, and an air layer is formed outside the outlet passage in the protruding case portion.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an exhaust gas treatment device of an engine capable of preventing matching surfaces of catalyst portions configuring a combustible gas catalyst from being thermally damaged. In the exhaust gas treatment device, combustible gas is produced by combustible gas generating catalyst, exhaust gas heated by combustion of combustible gas is supplied to an exhaust gas treatment portion, the combustible gas generating catalyst comprises an aggregate of a plurality of catalyst portions, each of the catalyst portions includes a matching surface with respect to adjacent one of the catalyst portions, a fastening ring is fitted over the combustible gas generating catalyst in which the matching surfaces of the adjacent catalyst portions are abutted against each other, and the matching surfaces of the adjacent catalyst portions are brought into tight contact with each other by a fastening force of the fastening ring.

Abstract: An engine exhaust treatment apparatus, which suppresses thermal damage to an electrothermal ignition apparatus, includes: an exhaust passage; an oxidation catalyst disposed in the exhaust passage; a combustible gas generator; a combustible gas supplying passage; a heat dissipation port opened upstream in the exhaust passage from the oxidation catalyst and in a downstream part of the combustible gas supplying passage, the exhaust passage and the combustible gas supplying passage communicating with each other through the heat dissipation port; and an electrothermal ignition apparatus disposed in the combustible gas supplying passage. Heat of flaming combustion of the combustible gas ignited by the electrothermal ignition apparatus is supplied to the exhaust passage, to raise the temperature of exhaust in the exhaust passage. A heat dissipation plate is attached to an outer projecting portion of the electrothermal ignition apparatus. The outer projecting portion projects outside a wall of the exhaust treatment apparatus.

Abstract: An exhaust gas processing device for an engine, capable of securely warming a combustion catalyst, is provided. A combustion catalyst burning gas is produced when a warming end condition for the combustion catalyst is established, which signifies the establishment of either one of a first condition or a second condition. In the first condition, an inlet temperature of a combustion catalyst is equal to or higher than an activation requirement temperature of the combustion catalyst, and further, an outlet temperature of the combustion catalyst is equal to or higher than an activation confirmation temperature of the combustion catalyst in excess of the inlet temperature of the combustion catalyst. In the second condition, the outlet temperature of the combustion catalyst exceeds a warming confirmation temperature of the combustion catalyst that is set to be higher as an engine speed is lower, for a predetermined period of time.
