摘要： The device of this invention is to prevent the buckling of steel sheets and positional discrepancy between steel sheets by grasping and butting the front and rear ends of sheets by means of clamping means on a joining device carrier. For this purpose, a pair of joining device carrier 3 are moved on rails 8 mounted at both sides of rolls 9 for conveying steel. The rear end of the preceding steel sheet 1 and the front end of the following steel sheet 2 are grasped by the clamping means 4 and 5 on the joining device carrier, respectively. The clamping means 5 is moved close to the clamping means 4 by using a movable frame so that the steel sheets 1, 2 are butted together.

摘要： A pivot shaft includes a shaft member having a male screw portion to be thread-connected to a vehicle body frame, and a nut member having a female screw portion to be thread-connected to part of a male screw portion of the shaft member corresponding to a projecting thread portion projecting from the vehicle body frame. The nut member as a locknut is attached so as to prevent the rotation of the adjusted shaft member. The locknut is a nut member formed into a cap-shape or a ball-head locknut shape. A tool engaging portion to which a multi-purpose tightening tool can be engaged is formed on the nut member. Since the multi-purpose tool can be engaged with the tool engaging portion on the nut member accurately, control of a tightening torque is facilitated, and the number of steps for controlling the tightening torque can be reduced.

The roll profile measuring method comprises: measuring irregularities in the surface of the work roll over the total length of the work roll by moving the displacement detector mount in the axial direction of the work roll; and processing a data stream of composite measured values obtained on the basis of the difference between measured data provided by the displacement detectors to determine the surface profile of the work roll in the axial direction of the work roll.

摘要： According to the invention, the rear end of a preceding metal piece and a front end of a succeeding metal piece are heated, pressed and joined prior to the finishing hot rolling. An alternating magnetic field running through the metal pieces in the thickness direction thereof is generated in an end region on opposed faces of the respective metal pieces to perform heating. Another alternating magnetic field whose direction is reverse with respect to that of the former alternating magnetic field is partially generated in the end region on the opposed faces of the metal pieces and in either a region where the metal pieces exist or a region outside width ends of the metal pieces. This assures a uniform heating of the end region on the opposed faces of the metal pieces over their full width to reliably join the both metal pieces to each other.
